Check in - the manager was very impersonal. We felt like we were bothering her. No greeting or anything. Elevator is scary, needs some work. Trash cans outside stuffed. Broken bottles and trash all around. The room was very nice and clean. A/C worked great. Breakfast bar was clean and well stocked. Would probably stay here again due to location and the rooms.

Not Worth It — Poor Condition and Billing Problems

I personally would not recommend staying here. The property felt very run-down — there were drips/crusted residue on walls and counters, and several pieces of furniture (dressers, TV stand) showed visible damage.
The biggest issue was billing: we stayed 2 nights but were charged for 6, and getting a refund has been very difficult so far. I’ve contacted corporate to try to resolve it.
I’d strongly suggest researching recent reviews before booking.

The front desk associates was not very friendly. I asked to downgrade to a cheaper room. He told me I couldn’t because I booked through an app. I hadn’t paid yet. I went back through the app and it let me choose a cheaper room. When I got to my room it felt like something from the 1960’s. Old broken furniture. Old curtains and stains. The ironing board had more stains than clean surface. I can add photos if that’s allowed.

We enjoyed our stay at this nice, clean hotel. It's located right next to two restaurants, and other eating places are less than a mile away. The area is very nice. Commerce is a pretty college town, and I recommend visiting. Stay at the Magnusson when you do! The price was very reasonable.

Nice, well maintained property. The area is quiet, with a couple of restaurants and a Walmart within a hundred yards or less from the hotel.
