WELL, the room was clean and the staff are nice. Besides the broken cars in the parking lot, these appeared to be no one else staying at this motel. There could have been one other person but unclear. It was Memorial Day weekend??? Positives, quiet, easy parking, great ice machine, very nice large refrigerator (I was on a long road trip and appreciated being able to transfer some of my cooler food to the frig). TV worked and good internet, air conditioning worked. Can't beat the price. You get a free breakfast at the gas station every night you stay.
Down side was how run down the property is, and mostly deserted except for someone working on a broken car. Shower was awful and hurt with pressure and wasn't adjustable, no soap or ice container but when I asked was given both so that was nice.

Room was not ready so we canceled the reservation upon arrival with the managers approval and assurance our payment would be refunded but so far it has not been returned. Now manager will not answer phone calls or respond to inquiries.

Staff were awesome. Not in good shape. No power cords for tv. Not super clean. Sketchy. Sorry to say.

The room was a remodeled old style single level motel that had a large flat screen tv that had a signal on the first day, but not on the second day.
I went to ask about it, but nobody was in the office for hours, so I left a note that was ignored by the staff.
The bathroom was the nicest thing about the room, but the shower drain was partially clogged.
The beds were comfortable enough, but there wasn't any place to put anything, because there weren't any tables or shelves by or between the beds.
In fact there wasn't a table or chair or anywhere to sit but on the beds. I would give 2 stars if there was even a single bar of soap, or shampoo.
There was a small refrigerator and a microwave so it wasn't totally bad.
I wouldn't recommend this motel to save a few $ over the nicer places to stay in Alturas.
