A wonderful stay and very nice hosts

“I’m so happy to have stayed at this guesthouse hosted by John. He was incredibly accommodating and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Best of all, we were lucky to stay in Room 12, located in the top corner of the building. It was spacious, with a generous balcony overlooking the charming town road.
The room was well-equipped with air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and a large bed at its center, complete with an insect barrier curtain to protect against mosquitoes. That said, I didn’t notice any mosquitoes—perhaps because we were on the upper floor. The accommodation also featured two separate spaces: one with a toilet and basin, and another with a shower and an additional basin. Unlike some budget places we’ve stayed in, where hot water is unreliable due to wall-mounted heaters, here it was consistently available, which was a great plus.
Another highlight of this guesthouse is its unbeatable location—just seconds from the waves and the breathtaking beach of Unawatuna. Walk for just one minute, and you’re in paradise! The beach is lined with friendly beach clubs where the staff are always welcoming with a smile. We spent a lot of time there, enjoying the atmosphere and delicious food.
If I return to Unawatuna, I would stay at No Name Hotel with John again without hesitation. The combination of price, quality, service, and location was simply perfect!”

Beware of dogs

When will hoteliers understand that their barking guard dogs that can bite you as soon as you enter or leave your room are not very pleasant.
And they did no housekeeping when we where there, during one week.
There is no TV in the room
This could have been a nice place with more customer consideration

Never stay there

I’ve stayed in many places in Welladewala road but No-name rest was a nightmare. From the entrance to the room everything was a disaster. Starting with hotel owners drunk mistress, that lady has no class I came with three VIP foreign guests and this women was drunk outta her head screaming in filth and it was purely embarrassing. The washrooms didn’t have any soap and when I asked for some they had the audacity to give us all used soap. The Australian who owns the place was trying to be nice but this drunkard skank of a woman turned up to our rooms and knocked the doors during midnight. The kitchen was so not hygienic I only had one meal and rest of my days were spent in a washroom cubicle because the food was terrible. 0/10 and I do not recommend this hellhole to anyone

Good place

Very beautiful place for a good price
The rooms were clean and the stuff was very friendly
Very cute dogs and turtles on the territory
Had issues with the plugs and wifi
but the owner answered in the middle of the night and helped with everything
Highly recommend

Great guesthouse

I enjoyed my stay at No Name guesthouse in unawatuna.. the rooms were very spacious.. the large bed very comfortable.. air con and fan.. John and his dear wife were very kind to me.. and on my last day.. they let me use the room before I got a taxi to the airport.. highly recommend.. love you both.. xxx
