Sensational!!!

We had a wonderful time at The Albatross – it is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The view is absolutely breathtaking, the rooms are beautiful and with the pool table and small bar you immediately feel at home.
A huge plus is the entire team: You will receive an incredibly warm welcome, everything is extremely accommodating and attentive. We would particularly like to highlight Chamindo and Thilak, who really read every wish from your eyes and make your stay very special. In the evening, you should definitely not miss the fantastic cocktails of Chamindo!
The two chefs are also highly praised – the food is simply excellent, prepared with a lot of love and absolutely fantastic in terms of taste.
We can highly recommend it to anyone – if you have the opportunity to be here, definitely stay a few nights!

An intimate hotel with mesmerising views

The view from this place is outstanding! To be honest, I'd come simply for the view alone. Views aside though, The Albatross is a calming, intimate hotel with attentive staff who really go above and beyond. They accommodate dietary requests without a fuss, and regularly check in with you to make sure you've got everything you need. A special shout out to Benedict the chef for his delicious food, and Chaminda the bartender for his wonderful mocktails and super-friendly attentiveness. The hotel is a little dated, but honestly, that adds to the charm of the place. The room we stayed in (Hole in 1) was private, clean, and spacious, with everything we needed, including toiletries, pool towels and bath robes. We enjoyed using the whirlpool and having a game of pool in the bar in the evening. Thank you to The Albatross for such a relaxing and calming stay.

Excellent service all the staff was so nice. My room was very nice and the view of the mountains from my terrace was beautiful. The food was also very good.

Heavenly location .Noisy amateurish staff

Called in for lunch non my way to Colombo 18/1/26 . Absolutely spectacular location elevated above the reservoir. Beautiful gardens & golf course. If that's your thing.
Had a great view of the seaplane landing & taking off over the dam.
For my lunch, I had the dining area to myself. However the noise from the kitchen was more akin to a truck stop. Sounded like half a dozen builders shouting to each other.
I moved & ate my fish lunch sat at the bar. No one bothered to ask why.
Go & enjoy the view. Take some lovely photos.
Don't forget your ear defenders

Hotel needs an upgrade

The view amazing . Our room spacious and quiet
But the hotel needs to be refurbished to a standard that reflects the cost and promise of 9.6 expectional .
The dinning experience dull.
The decor needs upgrading .
So disappointed
