Great place to stay

We booked lodge 40/13A initially. But the roads were under repair hence they contacted us to come to lodge 611. They ensured our safety throughout the stay and were on the lookout for our vehicle constantly. Highly recommend this place for a clean, safe and simple stay for anyone!

Nice place for value

The place is a bit far from the stations, but if you know the buses, you can get here for 0.1usd .
Its price was ok, the breakfast they provided was delicious and plenty. Laundry service also available. The groundfloor rooms are a bit older, try to stay on the top floor

Don’t book this hostel!

Terrible accommodation that cast a shadow on our experience in Kandy. We booked the rooms on the ground floor but left the room as soon as we felt the smell of mold and thought that the room up stairs was better. There was really no difference between them. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
We couldn't sleep through the night as it was both damp, cold and moldy. The sheets were damp and the pillows smelled really bad. The only good thing with the room was the bathroom that was fresh and new. But the window was open and we found a snail and insects on the floor.
We are backpackers and we are used to stay at hostels for a low cost and with an ok quality. But this one was one of the worst places that we have stayed on.
If I was the manager I would have renovated the whole place in order to at least take care of the mold. It’s not healthy for the staff and the guests. The place has its potential and the staff were really nice and helpful but the quality, as it is now is not good for anyone.

Terrible stay

We had a terrible stay here. We walked from the train station with our backpacks and it is about 40 minutes out the city which is way too far. On approach to the hotel, a dog sprinted at us barking like crazy it seemed like it was going to attack so we had to run inside the building and it kept barking outside - very scary. The walked us downstairs to our room which felt like a dungeon. Room was very small and not clean. Then my fiancé put the fan on and it started spinning very fast and then flew down off the ceiling nearly hitting us both. So unsafe, this could have been a very different story. Also the WiFi does not work downstairs so have to come up to reception. After the fan fell off the ceiling they moved us to another room upstairs that had a bit more space, the WiFi worked and it had a private bathroom. It was still not clean and the beds were not very comfortable. Overall we would definitely not stay here again or recommend it to a friend.

Won't go back

When we arrived they couldn't find our booking. They found it at last and then they couldn't se that we had payed online.
The beds were very hard. Taking a shower you almost are standing in the toilet.
The hotel was very noisy in the evening, my guess is that the manager is living downstairs. Construction work in progress at daytime.
