Nice family and amazing views ⭐️❤️

Very kind family and real sri lankian hospitality.
Really enjoyed nice conversations and extra help and assistance.
We had comfy double room where we could watch stunning sunrise from terrance.
Really lovely breakfast aswell.
Good calm location and still central.
Journal with recommendations was a nice surprise :-)
Overall amazing value and authentic stay.
I wish we stayed longer ⭐️

Highly recommend this peaceful stay

What a lovely and peaceful family home just outside of crazy Kandy centre. We were delighted to arrive to such a warm welcome. Mahesh and family welcomed us into their home and we were so glad to arrive after getting off the train as the city is very busy.
Their home has gorgeous views of the mountains and generally feels very peaceful. We definitely recommend this stay, it is only a short 10 min tuktuk from the centre so a great location to explore the town of Kandy.

Good quality homestay accommodation and lovely, lovely people

Just when you think that people in Sri Lanka can’t get any nicer you come to the Dreamscape Homestay run by Mahesh and his parents who are the most lovely, smiling, friendly, welcoming and helpful people you could ever wish to meet. We had three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Returning after a day of sightseeing to be greeted with smiles and tea and then sitting to chat with the family was an absolute joy.
The property is located a little way out of Kandy (which is a benefit because the place is manic) but you are on a main bus route and there are buses into town every 10 minutes. Getting the right bus back proved to be a little tricky so we tended to rely on tuk-tuks for the return. Access to the property is uphill and rough underfoot which may be a problem to some people but Mahesh and his father were promptly down to meet us from our tuk-tuk and carry our bags up to the house. It has to be said that the house is quite close to a very busy road and you get traffic noise until late at night and from early morning but I suspect that is the case in much of Kandy (as I said earlier, the place is manic). I would recommend ear plugs.
Currently, there are two rooms for rent (one more underway) and we had the one on the front of the property which has a good sized private balcony with great views. The room was a decent size, well-appointed and spotlessly clean and tidy. Remember this is homestay accommodation so it is relatively simple (don’t expect the Sheraton) but that in itself is part of the charm. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower with plenty of hot water. There is no air conditioning, so it can get warm, but a great electric fan.
Breakfast was varied across our stay. Fresh fruit was a standard but we had spicey vegetable sandwiches on day 1, eggs and bread on day 2 and a fantastic Sri Lankan curry on day 3. There is also an option to take dinner which we didn’t take up and now regret not doing so.

Tolles Homestay mit schöner Aussicht

Ich hatte einen tollen Aufenthalt bei dieser netten, freundlichen und tollen Familie und Gastgeber. Der Raum war Groß und gemütlich mit einem tollen Badezimmer und es war sehr Sauber. Der Balkon und die Aussicht ist Atemberaubend. Das Frühstück war Perfekt und Abwechslungsreich. Auch das Abendessen war sehr gut und lecker
Das Preisleistungsverhältniss ist sehr gut.
Dieses Unterkunft kann ich mit bestem Gewissen empfehlen.
Wenn ich wieder in Kandy bin komme ich wieder hierher.

Bien, un peu loin du lac

Propre, chambre avec balcon. Un peu loin des attractions touristiques et du lac. Un peu moins bruyant qu'en ville par contre. Déjeuner bien. Nous ont fait un lunch le jours de notre départ parce qu'on partait très tôt. Très familial et sympathique.
