Amazing stay

Was such an amazing stay, we had a great room with a beautiful balcony with a view of the train tracks and mountains; had a couch with a coffee table and then another set of chairs. Everything was clean, the restaurant/bar was all brand new and had such a nice chill vibe with great service. The staff were super friendly and helpful with everything.

Would not stay there again

I gave 2 for the view and goodwill, extreme kindness of the managers (who help carry suitcases) but the structure is really not welcoming. To get to the room there were 81 steps to add those to access the terrace restaurant, each flight different from the other in shape and height of the steps. Large but basic room with French windows that closed badly letting air pass through on a cold evening.The bathroom had yet another step to enter and the shower floor recessed in the middle for which you risked inciampare.Colazione already established without being able to choose and very poor choice for cena.Mi amazed a lot of super positive comments. While being quite demanding I think it is overrated even considering that to reach it the road is not easy, away from Ella so you are forced to dine there.

Charming hotel in the heights of Ella

A very nice hotel.
It is very recent with a breathtaking view.
It is in the heights of Ella and very quiet.
A balcony completes the whole.
The hosts are really nice and helpful ready to help with everything. Tuktuk for the day to get off at Ella to give info on the hikes.
And not to mention breakfast. A real delight and very hearty.
If you want to escape, go ahead.

Best Place to stay in Ella! Best human beings!!!

Absolutely amazing place and made a huge impression on our family trip to Sri Lanka!
Great staff, friendly, always smiling, accommodating to guests requirements in a humane manner.
Perfect spot as it’s ideally situated close by to all the touristic spots of Ella.
Amazing breathtaking views!!! Simply spectacular. Lovely spot to see a full moon through the mountain ranges, ella rock, train tracks to see the calypso train…
Clean spacious rooms with very comfy beds. Hot water can be troublesome some times but staff always available to assist you.
Safety and security guaranteed as the owner Gayan takes immense pride of ensuring his guest’s comfort and protection. We were definitely taken care of like family during our stay.
Food, breakfast was so homely. Great sri lankan options and western options as well. Chef was awesome, some scrumptious memories created during this stay.
Few flights of stairs can be bit tricky for the elderly but that is the mountainsides so nothing much to be done about it.
All of us adults, children loved the stay and 10/10 for this place and will highly recommend for the very reasonable rates it offers for the special treatment we got at this place. Even a solo traveler can stay at this wonderful place without hesitation!
Best memory was when the hotel owner Mr Gayan himself offered to drive us to Colombo from Ella and his only priority during this long journey was to ensure we reached on time and safely. Amazing man and even more amazing staff! Thank you to all the wonderful staff of Shining green view ella.
