Excellent stay at Whisky Point
We spent four amazing days at Whisky Point, near Arugam Bay, and really loved the place.
The location is exceptional, with a beautiful, quiet beach that feels almost private 20 minutes away in scooter from city center si really convenient and far from the noise of the city. The resort is small, intimate, and very relaxing, with a simple and authentic atmosphere super good quality/ value.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent throughout our stay. Special mention to Murthala and his team, who were always attentive and even helped us sort out a last-minute taxi issue on the morning of our departure.
The food was also very good, especially the pizzas, cocktails, and beach dinners (Italian owner so very decent food…). Everything felt fresh and well prepared.
The hotel was very clean, the beach was stunning, and the overall experience was exactly what we were looking for: peaceful, welcoming, and memorable.

Little paradise
We spent 8 nights at the Whysky Point Resort. Everything was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the rooms spacious. The direct beach access was very nice. The beach was anything but crowded; we were often alone there and could relax in beautiful beach huts. There was also an area for sports and yoga that we enjoyed using. What impressed us the most was the wonderful staff: attentive, friendly, and considerate. From the very beginning, we felt at home; our wishes were practically fulfilled before we could even express them. For sunburn, we received freshly cut aloe vera leaves. Activities such as surfing or eco safaris were organized for us, and everything went very smoothly. A special thanks to Murthala for his highly professional and friendly demeanor and constant availability. Also to Mufaris, as well as to Aswath, who greeted us every morning with a smile, and to Muja for his energetic and very friendly presence. Thank you to the entire team; we enjoyed it very much and would love to come back.

The perfect getaway
The most beautiful, peaceful, eco resort. You can tell that the owners live their ethos. Every little detail has been thought of, from the woven baskets for the washroom showers to the games in the restaurant. It’s just steps from the ocean and ticked in about 20 minutes from Arugam bay. We had a lovely time and especially enjoyed the restaurant.

Perfect for relaxing
A little sanctuary and a highlight of our Sri Lanka trip. We stayed in the budget rooms which are beautiful, simple, well-made wooden pagodas on stilts right by the beach. You wake up in the palm tree tops with a sea view. The toilet and shower facilities are shared but spotless and constantly attended to, and we never had to wait or in the four days we were there (despite the resort being fully booked).
Staff and the owners could not be more attentive, service and food are top quality. Our children loved the big, safe resort area to play in and make holiday friends it was an altogether deeply relaxing stay.
The resort is 30 mins by tuk tuk from arugam bay but Pottuvil Point is just a 15 mins stroll down the beach and far better for beginners/kids to surf than baby point especiaklly in afternoons when the baby point waves are rcrowded. We didn’t mind the tuk tuk ride into town, but I would recommend staying in arugam bay itself if you want to be walking distance to its cafes, shops, restaurants ( lots of great ones) and more lively experience.

Peaceful resort, nice food
This peaceful resort is located just outside the busier Arugam Bay. The owner ensures you have a pleasant and relaxing stay—thank you, Ana!
The yoga class was wonderful. The covered daybeds at the private beach are very comfortable, and from there, you can order drinks and snacks via WhatsApp.
The menu is extensive, and the food is delicious. The staff is very friendly.
