Loved the helpful staff. I didn’t like the fact that the rooms are not maintained. My hotel was paid 3 weeks in advance, we arrived at 11 in the evening, the air conditioning was not working, started pouring out water like a waterfall. Got a slightly better room the next day will issues of a leaking toilet. Hotel is not properly maintained. Not worth the money they charge

There is a convenience store and vietnamise restaurany nearby. Bus stop which is a 2minute walk is a plus, making the location accessible to other part of singapore.

Highly Reccommended

This is not my firstime to stay this hotel. This is so amazing hotel. I love the location, transportation, the food hawkers, malls, and church. One thing that i really like this hotel because of the staff. Particularly Sir. Chris the manager he is very accommodating and he response my concern. And also the cleaners my room is always clean and refreshing. Overall highly reccommended Budget Friendly.

Horrible Experience — Booking Canceled Without Notice, Forced to Pay More

We had one of the worst hotel experiences ever at Fragrance Hotel - Balestier.
We made a confirmed reservation through Ctrip.com, and upon arrival, we were suddenly told by the front desk that our booking had been cancelled — without any prior notice, explanation, or apology.
This left us stranded, wasting precious time. We were scheduled to attend the Lady Gaga concert, and due to the delay and stress, one of us got injured while trying to make it to the venue on time.
The most outrageous part? After being told there were no rooms available, the staff suddenly offered us a room — but only if we paid more. We had no choice but to pay extra out of pocket, just to stay in the very hotel that had cancelled our original booking.
We felt cheated, manipulated, and disrespected. This is not just bad service — it borders on a scam.
We have filed formal complaints with the Singapore Tourism Board, CASE, and Trip.com, and we urge other travelers to think twice before booking this hotel.
Avoid this place at all costs if you value your time, money, and safety.
