Great location, nice accommodation
We were here as a family. The location is excellent, very close to one of the most beautiful swimming beaches and at the same time close to the city. The villa itself is simply nice. Many plants and nicely furnished. Breakfast is good with toast, pancakes, eggs, fruit, and juice. Can be recommended!

Normal option, no big expectations.
Review of Island Bungalow Hotel (La Digue)
Welcome!
Stayed at this hotel for three nights with his wife in December 2025.
In general - the option of sleeping overnight is possible, but unfortunately, it did not arouse us much.
The guesthouse itself consists of several cabins for different numbers of guests, and at first sight creates a rather pleasant impression – cozy and island-like atmosphere.
They chose this location primarily because of its proximity to Anse Severe beach, which is about a five-minute walk away. However, in reality the beach turned out to be beautiful, but completely unbathable: many rocks at the bottom and constant shallow water.
From the port to the hotel we walked in 15 minutes - no problem. But then the nuances started. To get to the Gesthouse itself, you have to turn from the main road to the dirt road — and apparently it was dug up pretty badly shortly before we arrived. It was extremely inconvenient to travel with suitcases, especially on the day of departure when it was raining heavily.
Unfortunately, the hotel staff didn't warn us in advance. If we knew, we'd probably choose another place to live.
Upon check-in, we were treated to a refreshing drink and escorted to the Villa Kara room. Visually, he made a very nice impression - clean, neat, cozy.
But already in the process of living some inconveniences were revealed.
First, there was no drinking water in the fridge. When we asked, we were offered to buy it from the nearest store, which is about 15 minutes' walk without a bike.
Secondly, the kitchen was separate from the room - you had to go outside every time, which is not very convenient.
The location of the hotel as a whole was not the most successful. On the first day we went for a walk, we realized that there are very few shops and low-cost cafes in the area, and it is difficult to reach them on foot.
The really beautiful and comfortable beaches - Anse Source d’Argent, Grand Anse, Petite Anse, Anse Cocos - without a bike or taxi are better not to try to get at all.
Separately I want to mention the hotel employee Kami - a very kind and sympathetic girl.
She always tried to help, gave us good bicycles at a discount, offered laundry services, fed us delicious breakfasts and even went along with serving them early. And on the day we left, I thoughtfully left breakfast in the fridge - for which I thank her very much!
Unfortunately, the hotel's second employee was far less friendly.
In conclusion, I want to make a small request to the administration — to install a drinking water cooler on the territory. In hot climates, it is not a luxury, but a basic care for guests and an important part of comfort.
Outcome:
Island Bungalow is a normal option with little expectation. Suitable for those who do not plan to spend much time on the beach or are ready to constantly travel by bike or taxi.
For holidays with children and for those who dream of swimming in the ocean right next to their homes, this option, alas, is not suitable.

Very well maintained facility with nice team
Very well maintained facility not far from the Anse Severe, Fred and his team are always trying to fulfill every wish, be it a Reservation at the mountain restaurant Belle Vue or good tips to explore the island. Bicycles are available for a fee Recommendation!

Perfect place to stay on La Digue
We stayed here just for one night, a family of 6 in 2 rooms. It was perfect, very close to the Cat Cocos Ferry, just a few minutes bike ride away. The rooms were clean and well equipped, including a basic kitchen area. Breakfast was included, served by a very friendly young man, and consisted of eggs, toast, fruit, tea, coffee and juice. It was also possible to return later in the day of departure to shower before leaving for the boat. This made our journey back much more comfortable and was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend Island Bungalow, and would love to return, thanks very much!

Good stay
we stayed there for 4 days in two of the smaller and cheaper bungalows. our bungalows were clean, quiet, nice, but a little bit to small. they offer bigger bungalows for a higher price. even the first bugalow were we stayed didn’t have a kitchen, just a microwave and a kettle and some kitchen utensilies for two person. the second bungalow got a kitchenette with kitchenware and was better.
breakfast simple, but o.k.. staff was very nice !!! near the beach, but at low tide hard to swim. just take care your bungalow has a kitchen if you like to get one, otherwise it is a good place to stay.
