Quiet, central location on a beautiful beach
Can highly recommend the accommodation, very quiet location, on a great beach and still in the middle of everything.

Nightmare in paradise
When you are greeted by the friendly manager of the hotel, you learn that WiFi is not included in the room price. Regarding the room, we can only agree with Susanna's previous review. In addition, the description/photos of the room on booking.com did not match reality at all (e.g. no sea view, room significantly smaller, poor furnishings, various technical defects). The construction site noise directly on the adjacent property until late in the evening was not announced to us and makes it impossible to relax on the entire property.
The owner's reaction to our complaint:
- The owner could not be reached by phone to discuss the options we had offered in writing (discount, room change or hotel change)
- We received a voice message from him via WhatsApp: we are far too difficult people and he doesn't like them at all. He emphasized this again very clearly at the end of the message.
In our opinion, this is not about the well-being of the customer, but about demanding a lot of money for as little as possible. If there are problems, you are fobbed off with rejection and no understanding. And on top of that, you are insulted as "difficult people". He also didn't even respond to our suggestions to adjust the price or change rooms. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a compromise that was satisfactory for both sides, as our efforts to accommodate each other were literally strangled or ignored by Mr. Hoffmann. As a result, we left the hotel after just one night without a pro rata refund for the two unused nights.
Mr. Hoffmann is known as an unfriendly person who is only interested in money and not in the well-being of his guests.
Conclusion: at over 200 EUR per night (without internet and food) the price-performance ratio is abysmal.

Disappointing
On arrival, I paid for 2 nights, which seemed less than the online quote. I paid extra for a superior room with a sea view. It stated that the room contained a sofa bed and coffee making facilities. Both of these were not provided. The sea view was ground floor across a social area, which meant it was not private, and anyone could look inside. The AC was only effective if you stood directly underneath it and it was much cooler outside than in the room. Wifi was extra. You had to ask for your complimentary water.
On returning from a nice meal out, there were no lights round to the back of the property and I had to use my phone torch to see and avoid slipping on the wooden planks.
This accommodation was definitely overpriced and lacking in quality and customer service. I will not recommend it to any of my friends or colleagues who regularly visit La Digue.

A very disappointed experience
The room was small, without any view (only the top of the house in front , but I had to keep the curtain drawn to avoid to see the other guests who walked outside ), dirty towels, no soap ( I had to ask ) and all this for 185€ per night ( without breakfast )
It looked like a bare motel room
It was difficult also to sleep because of the noise of the mini refrigerator and of
the suffocating heat of the room due to the impossibility of turning on the air conditioning positioned above the head and keeping the window open given that
after 6pm no one checks the entrance which has no gate.
All seasoned by the lack of the staff who smiles if no problems arise.

Rip-off - not recommended!
But by far the worst was the owner's reaction to us and our complaint.
Our attempts to find a suitable solution (another room or discount) for both sides were only nipped in the bud by Mr. Hoffmann with the statement.
The only right decision was to leave the guest house early to save our vacation.
We have never experienced such rude and customer-unfriendly treatment. And that from the owner Mr. Hoffmann himself!
And all that for €220 a night! Without food and internet.
