New hotel in Kigali

The Luma & Lua Boutique Hotel in Kigali is a new hotel with nice, albeit smaller, rooms. A major plus is the hotel restaurant, which offers a beautiful view of Kigali, delicious food, and excellent breakfasts. Since it’s a new hotel, there are still some operational issues that need to be addressed, particularly communication between the front desk and the restaurant regarding billing. The TV in our room also didn’t work, but we assume management will resolve these issues soon. We recommend that guests carefully compare the booking terms on Booking.com with the bill issued by the hotel.
Overall, it’s a pleasant hotel with good potential, especially thanks to the restaurant, the view, and its location in Kigali.

Cosy rooms, Tuscany views from the restaurant. Staff are magic ask for Happiness, she really is.

Three days at Luma & Lua felt like stumbling upon a secret that Kigali has been quietly keeping from the rest of the world.
The rooms, honestly, they are cosy. If you’re from the west and you normally judge a room by how far the TV is from the bed, recalibrate your expectations. But here’s the thing, your room windows open right up to share in that sweeping expanse of view, it’s like an artwork that breathes. The real revelation is the rooftop restaurant. Step up there and you’re no longer in Rwanda. You’re in Tuscany. Somehow, impossibly, gloriously, Tuscany. Every concern you had about your room evaporates.
The hotel itself is beautiful. Thoughtful and intentional design, gorgeous art, and an atmosphere that feels both warm and like you are about to experience something special.
But the real magic is the people. The staff are attentive without ever being intrusive a balance many five-star hotels fail to strike. I have to give a very special mention to two exceptional humans: Happiness; yes, that is her actual name, and yes, she lives up to it completely and Bryn, who would arrive early each morning seemingly for the sole purpose of making sure our day started right. That kind of dedication is rare and it does not go unnoticed.
Stay here. You won’t regret a single cosy square foot of it.

A beautiful boutique hotel

Luma & Lua is a beautiful boutique hotel with a calm, modern atmosphere. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, and the staff are friendly and professional. Great location and the rooftop restaurant and bar is a perfect place to unwind after a busy day. I’d happily stay here again.
