Excellent stay, great location
We have just returned from our stay at DeGoya studios and we had a brilliant stay. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Bucharest old town. You check in at the Rembrant hotel which is just 2 doors along, next to Van Gough cafe. All the staff here were great. They were very welcoming and informative of the city and provided a map and recommendations/suggestions of bars, restaurants, activities and site seeing. On checking out they will also store your luggage if you are not traveling until later in the day. There are plenty of restaurants and bars close by. The studios are also within easy walking distance of bus stops and the metro if you want to travel further out of old town. The studio has everything you could need for a short break and it was cleaned everyday. There was also coffee and tea replenished each day and we brought a small carton of milk from the local Carrefour. Please note that the alleyway to the main entrance of the studios does look slightly daunting, this is not the fault of DeGoya studios, this is a derelict building opposite the alleyway causing the eyesore. However do not be put of by this, it was fine and once inside the main entrance the building is modern and clean. There is no lift, but a beautiful staircase to climb, we were on the 3rd floor and this was fine for us but do consider this when booking as there are 4 floors in total. We experienced no issue with noise. We found DeGoya studios to be great value for money and perfect for what we needed. We recommend visiting the Van Gough café for breakfast (right next door). Do ensure you book as it gets very busy. We caught the number 100 bus from the airport to the old town which was approx 0.50p and approx. 45 mins journey. (Please note this bus does get very busy). You can buy a ticket on the bus on a self service machine, but this does not always work and they do random ticket checks, however there is an app you can download (posters on the bus) to purchase. It will drop you off at University square and its a 5 min walk DeGoya studios.

DeGoya Studios has an excellent location in Bucharest’s Old Town, within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and bars.
The studios do not have their own reception, so check-in and any assistance are handled at the neighboring Rembrandt Old Town Hotel. The staff were friendly, but needing to leave the building to get help at night was inconvenient.
The room was generally clean, but the bathroom was small, outdated, and the shower looked worn. It was difficult to tell if some areas were simply old or affected by mold, so this is something to be aware of as there is no pictures of the shower on the booking pages.
Noise levels were inconsistent. One night was quiet, while another we experienced loud banging from around 9:00 p.m. until 12:30 a.m., making it difficult to sleep.
Overall, it’s a decent place to stay if location is your priority, but the bathroom, lack of an on-site reception, and inconsistent noise mean there’s room for improvement.

Very disappointing stay – terrible room conditions
I stayed for 3 days. They gave me a room on the 4th floor, and it turned my holiday into a complete nightmare. The ventilation in the room was very poor, the space was extremely small, and the room felt very suffocating. I was misled by the photos and reviews, but it was a big disappointment.
There was a window, but it was above my height, so I couldn’t even see outside. The only good thing about this place is its location in the Old Town. It is very central, but the room itself was a complete disaster. There was no wardrobe or even a bedside table.

Fabulous!
Excellent location in old town. Check in at Rembrant Hotel next door but one. The apartments are really lovely. Next to a derelict building but can't be helped and makes no difference. Quiet,comfortable and I have already recommended to people. No lift so 2nd floor great for us. Couldn't have picked a better place. The young man who checked us in really pleasant.
