Very relaxing , quiet and zen hotel. Room was beautiful and food was great everywhere including the breakfast buffet. I think the best part of the hotel is the beach access (sun beds included in the price). The only thing is staff could provide higher quality service for the price - they provided conflicting information about the resort facilities at points and didn’t bend over backward to offer transportation to restaurants/spa across the highway; and you have to specifically request them to pick you up at your villa otherwise you have to walk 5-10 minutes to the front lobby to catch the shuttle. We also asked them to book a restaurant for us and they said they were working on it and just never gave us a call back.
Also note that you must make restaurant reservations in advance of your stay. There are 2 different hotel locations so the restaurants and rooms/spa are spread out between the two and you need to take the shuttle to get across the highway to the other location.

Confusing when you book which part of the property you’re staying in. It’s now divided across a street and requires inconvenient shuttle transfers. If you’re into a rustic experience and want to visit, I’d highly recommend staying on the original part of the property only, not the new area which has immature landscaping and ugly views over exposed AC units. The pictures are also misleading that this is beachfront- it’s a 10-15 minute drive to the beach. Staff skill sets vary dramatically. Maria on front desk is amazing, but there are also a bunch of ill trained interns in forward facing positions without proper supervision. Breakfast was covered in flies, as was the Sublime Beach club (go to JNCQuoi beach club instead). This honestly doesn’t feel like a 5* hotel. We will not be returning.

3.5 Star Service at Best

I treated my mom to this stay in the spa suite for her 60th birthday and while the property was exquisite, the service was horrific. The service was consistently a 3.5 at best. I had to follow up to get anyone to do their jobs. I run a business and it felt like I was managing my own team. I know a lot of the staff was new because the veterans moved over to the sand side of the resort which had just opened. This made our service suffer which is unacceptable. I addressed my concerns and they attempted to rectify but all in all it didn’t fix the consistently horrific service. Ultimately I paid the price for a 5 star luxury experience and had a 3.5 star at best.
If you want 5 star service skip this one.

Great Experience

A charming, no luxury, farm-style hotel. I stayed on the Terracotta side, which is the older section. Now there's a new section called Sands. The room is pleasant and stylish with a bathtub and outdoor area. The breakfast is well-served. The entire hotel has charming spaces such as a swimming pool, spa, gym, and restaurants. The Sands side has a heated pool. An excellent opportunity is to use the Sublime Beach Bar on Carvalhal beach for free, with an exclusive area for guests, but you need to go by car or the hotel's van. Best option in Comporta.

Splendid resort, but still too new to deserve 5 stars.

A rating of 3 out of 5 because
One - the new Sublim Comporta Sand establishment is magnificent.
Two - because the rooms are splendid and very comfortable.
Three - because the breakfast and the quality of the restaurants visited are really very good.
On the other hand, the service is quite catastrophic because the establishment is too new and the staff is not yet trained.
We will need to return in a few months, hoping that the managers find a solution.
Thank you to the manager during our check-out for listening to us and taking our feedback into account.
