A sweet, simple family owned hotel

A nice simple place to stay before heading toward Machu Picchu with a lovely view of the ruins. My friend was sick during our stay and the owners were very helpful, they gave her some lovely coca tea and made sure we had everything we needed

an Incredible View over the Mountains

The hotel itself is ok, not the best I ve ever seen, but the view is really impressive, and the owner of the hotel is really nice and welcoming. He showed us all the details of the mountains like the lama shaped one. He also told us that on the 24 of June (for the Inti Raymi celebration), he sun rises through the mouth of the Inca represented in the mountains and sets in the eye of the lama...incredible! In the morning, the various cockerels and ducks in the garden woke us up to be able to see the sunrise.
We just paid 15soles seach for the night (5dollars), really worth it!

Centrally located Hostal but extremely poor accommodation with infested rooms and filthy toileting facilities.

In Ollantaytambo we had a room in the Hostal La Nusta where there were dangerous electrical sockets, only 1 bare light bulb, paper hanging off the walls and I was bitten by fleas. There was only 1 filthy toilet between 5 rooms/ 10 people. The only hot water was in a shower downstairs, outside, with bare electrical wires hanging from nails in the ceiling. We were all moved to the La Nusta from another Hostal that Tucan tours had put us in where one of our party was put in a room with no windows - a cupboard!
We have complained to this big company who apologised, also saying it was a busy time in a major tourist area, it is a poor country and what was in our 12 day tour of Peru costing £2600 with no food. Rooms at this hosal cost about $16 a night!
No wonder they do not give names any of their accommodations but our pictures show what Tucan Tours paying guests are being told are rustic and typical of this beautiful country. We will not be using them again.

Linda vista

Lugar cómodo para pasar la noche, tiene una linda vista a las ruinas de Ollantaytambo, no hay cocina compartida, y el tv es a blanco y negro por lo demás el dueño es muy gentil y hasta te cuenta parte de la historia de las ruinas.
