Lovely hotel in the world’s desert oasis

Lovely hotel in the world’s desert oasis; 143 soles a night accommodation, our room faces the view of the sand dunes. A few steps to the left side is the lagoon, a line of good restaurants, and you can walk up the dunes for a great view esp at sunset. Every where is walking distance at this oasis. Party-sounds can be heard until 1 am or so but at least it’s muffled as the hotel sits a few meters away from a party hotel. Breakfast is included. They have a pool. The hotel in, and out— looks clean, and well-maintained.

Rudest staff I have ever encountered

Nice hotel but the rudest staff I have ever encountered. They will roll their eyes when you ask for a drink, not say hello or anything to you when you walk past them. Everything seems like a massive inconvenience and like you shouldn’t be there

Not great

The pool area was nice and they loan you pool towels, but that's where the positives end for me. No hand towels or wash rags in the bathrooms. The bed was very hard and the pillows felt as if they were made from stone. The staff was polite but detached. The breakfast was meager and disappointing: a small bowl of fruit, juice and a hard roll with a piece of lunchmeat. Walls are thin so you hear every little noise from neighbors. Save your money and stay at a nearby hostel.

Average stay

Checking in was smooth and pleasant. Front desk was friendly...and welcoming.
Breakfast was not provided.
Price is in the mid range category.
Room was clean but small. Room amenities were okay. Toiletries were sub par....but we always bring along our own for times like these.
There's no air conditioning. I don't get it.....it's really hot here in the desert and they do not have air conditioning. Once again we found it difficult to sleep as we kept waking up in perspiration. Room has a ceiling fan but from past personal experiences we find they're not really good for us....health-wise.
The pool is a huge plus and after a long day out dune buggying and sand boarding we jumped in, stayed in to cool down before heading to our room to freshen up for dinner. There is a restaurant-like area with a bar but we've not seen them open for business during our stay. Probably it's the timing.
It's a nice enough hotel but we would have preferred if there was air conditioning.

Very Good Stay

Swift check in with friendly receptionist.
Room basic and a bit dated, and drains did smell (common occurrence throughout Peru !)
Breakfast was a choice of eggs or fruit salad, with bread rolls and jam, juice and coffee. (good breakfast/service)
Pool and communal areas clean.
Reception was happy to store our luggage when we checked out on last day, and helped us book taxi/trips etc.
Exceeded expectation !
