Really a 4.5

The Tryp Wyndham is a new and very attractive hotel in a modern part of Asuncion within a ~20 minute walk of 3 important malls. Nice restaurants and pastry shops/cafes are hidden on the side streets. Quattro D is an amazing ice cream store. An Uber ride to downtown costs less than $10. We were in the huge corner suite with living room, dining area and coffee area. At $123/night including taxes this was excellent value. The staff was lovely and we always came back to a clean room after our sightseeing. The rooftop pool was delightful but could have used some umbrellas. Guay, the rooftop evening tapas bar was very glamorous and served tasty bites and drinks. The same could not be said about the main restaurant which did not reach the gastronomical aspirations of the menu, for example: the roasted eggplant was covered with tahini sauce but “the sauce” was just a huge blob of tahini right out of the jar - no salt, no garlic, etc. - very bland. The free breakfast was uninspired. The coffee was poor (we bought our own powdered instant) and some ingredients like the cut fruit were tasteless. Another little annoyance was the outdated yellow rug in the corridor and landings of the suites. Not even a deep clean while we were there helped its dingy dowdiness compared to the rest of the gorgeous hotel. That being said this hotel tries hard! Great details like super smooth scented sheets provided great sleep in the quiet room. The towels were super fluffy and white. I definitely recommend a stay here.

This was my third stay at Tryp hotel in Asunción and, as on previous occasions, the experiences have been positive regarding cleanliness, staff service, and breakfast. However, this time the hotel decided to close the restaurant for a private event — of course without any prior notice during the reservation process — leaving guests either poorly accommodated to use the restaurant facilities or “kindly invited” to dine outside the hotel, which is absolutely incompatible with an establishment that aims to be recognized as an upper-class hotel.

I recommend!

Careful and helpful staff. The room we stayed in was very spacious and with great beds, bed linen and good quality towels. Good and varied breakfast. The restaurant has good options for lunch and dinner, and we liked everything we tried. The parking is closed (underground), secure and with easy access to the elevators that lead to the rooms. Although the hotel is close to Shoping Del Sol, to return after sunset, the road is not very safe, as there are many beggers along the way.

Good hotel

The hotel is new and modern. The room is spacious and very comfortable, good wifi. Parking in the same building with direct elevator access to your flat. Good breakfast. It is a few blocks from the shopping and opposite La Feria. The terrace with pool and very nice bar.
What I did not like were the towels, they had a yellowish color, like dirty, badly washed, very used.

Very good option in Asuncion del Paraguay

The Hotel is modern and quite new construction, located in a safe and commercial area.- Spacious rooms even the smallest, good sleep comfort and soundproofing.- Breakfast is correct and operates a restaurant with a wide menu, but also offers executive menu at reasonable prices.- It has a pool on the top floor, as well as a sky bar and gym.- The staff is excellent.-
