Good location close to shopping and restaurants. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff was very accomodating/helpful. Food was good too. On another positive note, Juan Valdes coffee shop in the lobby....coffee as well as treats :)

Average hotel in the best location in Asuncion
We stayed at the Sheraton Asunción and found it to be a convenient option for a short stay.
The hotel is located in the business district of Asunción, right next to the main shopping centres and many offices. It’s also well positioned for sightseeing, with the Museo del Barro just a 10 minutes walk away.
While the hotel has been recently refurbished, the overall feel is fairly basic in comparison with other Marriott properties in Paraguay.
We didn’t have breakfast because of an early start, but we did enjoy the club lounge in the evening due to our Titanium status . The food selection in the lounge was surprisingly good, with a selection of red and white wine, beer, and soft drinks, along with a small range of warm dishes and cold snacks.
Overall, it’s a reliable and comfortable hotel in a good location for a short stay but it lack a character for a longer stay.

Very very sad, this hotel underwent management change and a "remodel".
Result - went from being one of the very best Sheraton's in Latin America to one of the very worst, destroying the legacy of the previous management who invariably made this a great place to stay. While under the previous management it was worth the premium charged with the new management expect a Fairfield Inn experience which means your overpaying by a lot. There are so many much less expensive hotel options in the area don't stay here. I am a Marriott loyalist, I don't ever remember rating a hotel a 2, perhaps the Aloft is an option if you need to stay at a Marriott property. Aside from the many, many things wrong with the hotel, both elevators were broken for 2 days, forcing guests to walk up and down up to 10 floors. The front desk staff is extremely inexperienced and not particularly friendly. Cleanliness and attention to detail are not great. Many things were broken in my "remodeled" room. The new club is a waste, nothing there except a minor happy hour 6-8 pm, and coffee and water the rest of the day, nothing compared to the old club with full breakfast and dinner. Accounting at the hotel is a nightmare. Don't expect any special attention if you are elite member Marriott.
Exception - The restaurant staff have been here for many many years and always treat guests very well. The gym is also a major improvement over the old one and open 24 hrs.
Very sad to see this hotel go down so fast.

Group of ladies who were not well received
We were in a group of 11 women all very well positioned and when we arrived there, we were not well received by the receptionist Patrícia, as if they didn't want us there, then put us in the funds, being that we paid for walking high and view to the city. We contacted our travel agent who confirmed our payment for these details and they asserted to our agent that our aptitudes had this view. Very unpleasant. In no hotel management spoke out in any cordial or elegant way. The hotel is good, restaurant too, the waiters very kind and nice, but unfortunately this Patricia of the portaria and one of glasses who said himself manager( I don't know the name ) should not be in front of a hotel of size if this is not your profile. I should reserve the very nice and kind Andressa who made our checkout, in addition to competent!

2 stars at the price of 5
One of the worst experiences I had in a “5-star” hotel. I was assigned a disabled room without giving me any notice. The room was uncomfortable and not functional: I could not even use the basin well or look in the mirror. But what was really serious was the attitude of the staff when I claimed. Instead of apologizing or seeking a solution, they treated me proudly, laughed and completely minimized the situation. An incredible level of disrespect for a hotel in this category. Marriott should seriously review how guests are being treated at this hotel.
