A must for a visit to this area of Oman.
Fabulous guest house, firstly Ahmed and Ali are great hosts, full of local knowledge and advice of places to visit and walks to do, Ali told us all about his bee keeping and his farm. The guest house is the first in the village so you don’t have to carry luggage far! There are only five rooms, we had a large room on the upper level, the bathroom is small but functional. The room is simple and authentic, it has air con. Breakfast and evening meal were really nice, all home cooked and set out on the balcony where the views are amazing. It was a lovely space to just sit and relax. Tea and coffee available to help yourselves, was also where people chatted and exchanged tips on walks etc. The village itself is fascinating, walking the alleys and steps and finding something around every corner. We really enjoyed our two nights here and would definitely recommend.

Surprisingly authentic…
Al Hamra has been relocated and rebuilt. Thankfully, it was the ‘old’ town ( ‘hamlet’ is a better descriptor ) that I stayed in and the experience overall was memorable - natural beauty combining with the warmth of the Omani human spirit. Brothers Ali and Ahmed have created a truly inspiring experience. Their guest house commands a terrific view down to the new city and beyond, to the imposing mountain ranges. The 5 rooms are ‘basically’ comfortable and intriguingly styled according to Omani tradition. The food is home cooked by Ahmed’s sister and contrary to expectation, was delicious. Ahmed was on hand to engage in meaningful and insightful conversation. He’s ‘easy’ and genuine, thoughtful and generous. Ali oversaw breakfast and was a wonderful compliment to Ahmed. He’s a Beekeeper and something of an expert in this area. He’s renowned locally and his adjacent honey shop is worthy of exploration. This family run establishment is a strong recommendation ; for it’s authenticity, for it’s delivery of magical sun risings & settings and critically, for it’s close proximity to the Grand Canyon.

A genuine, Omani stay!
We stayed there for s night and we have a really wonderfull time!
The village is so peaceful and authentic with a number of hikes around (we took the short one through tha palm valley and it eas great.
The guest house was also great with traditional rooms which travelled back in time, in a good way.
Ahmed, the owner of the guest house was super kind and we enjoyed to talk with him, and buy some honey from his own store next to the guest house.
The dinner was also delicious, and it is home made by Ahmed’s family.
A genuine stay which I totally recommend!

Thee Best Host & Guesthouse in Misfah Al Abriyyin
Wow! Where do I even begin? Our visit to Misfah Al Abriyyin simply would not have been the same had we stayed anywhere but Basmat Al Misfah Guesthouse. From the moment we booked until after departing even, the owner (Ahmed) went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. From coordinating vegetarian meals to accommodate our diet, to giving us a tour of his farm with fresh figs, lemons, and papaya to take with us, to endless helpful recommendations for nearby activities and sites, we were truly blown away by his kindness.
The guesthouse itself is lovely, perched up on a hill with a patio for breakfasts and dinners, or simply to hang out whenever you'd like. Ahmed also owns and operates a honey shop next door where you can sample and buy a range of his natural products, including our newly found favorites: date syrup and frankincense honey. They are the perfect memento of your visit or gifts for loved ones!
Our room was charming and comfortable, with a decent mattress, great pillows, fresh towels, a mini fridge, and powerful air conditioning to combat the Omani summer heat. We also appreciated the easy parking adjacent to the property. If you are looking to visit Misfah Al Abriyyin, do not miss Ahmed's place!
