A warm and welcoming stay at a luxurious property. The only place to stay in Palmerston North!

We were attracted to book our recent two nights at Refreshstay because of the incredible number of five star reviews our hosts had garnered over a number of years. Could their architect designed home really be that lovely; would our bedroom, with exclusive use bathroom, be as luxurious as promised; would our hosts be as well travelled, erudite, charming and welcoming as reported; and would our evening meal and breakfast be as delicious as other guests had stated? We are pleased to report it was all absolutely true and more! Terri & Vince went above and beyond to ensure we had a really great stay and we truly left as friends. We are determined to return when next we visit Palmerston North and can recommend Refreshstay to others without hesitation.

An egg-ceptional stay

Vince and Terri made us feel so welcome from the get go. Wow. So comfortable, so supportive, such gorgeous company and conversation. And of course the egg-ceptional breakfasts. We would definitely recommend .

Simply superb refreshing stay

Well, what an absolute delight it was to stay with Vince & Terri at Refreshstay! When we arrived we received a lovely warm greeting from the hosts and the simply gorgeous dogs. The property is just sublime, super stylish in design and decor, finished off with great artwork and a wonderful sense of comfort.
We ordered dinner, and it was beautifully prepared and presented and tasted delicious! Vince & Terri were superb hosts and wonderful company, and we enjoyed chatting about life and travel.
Our room was just divine - spacious, warm and comfortable with high quality linen, and the bathroom was just spectacular.
After a refreshing night's sleep, we wandered downstairs and enjoyed a simply delicious breakfast, complete with homemade toast.
Overall, this is one of the best two b&bs we've ever stayed at in New Zealand, and we were very sorry to have to leave. Vince & Terri: you're fantastic hosts with a fantastic property, and we shall return! Cheers, Scott & Chris.

Absolute joy

An unexpected visit with Vince and Terri at Refreshstay jump-started the greatest adventure of my lifetime. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did to make me comfortable, welcome and refreshed!
Without a doubt, this is one of the best kept secrets of the Manawatu, and a bucket list item for anyone traveling in Aotearoa New Zealand.
If you are not in New Zealand yet – make a beeline here for warm vibrant accommodation, glorious food and great conversation with truly interesting people who know the meaning of hospitality. Once you’ve stayed, you will be back. Bliss.

Best B&B we have ever visited

Terri and Vince are unbelievable. They really do make sure you have the most relaxing and interesting stay. We had great food, wonderful conversation and an excellent facility. to stay in. What a find. My husband and I have been travelling for over 50 years and our time at Refreshstay was the best we have experienced at a B&B.
