An exceptional stay

An exceptional overnight stay. A truly upmarket experience but still cosy and welcoming. Our room was delightful, clean and very comfortable. Host David was excellent. We also ate at Oliver's restaurant that evening and had some of the best eye fillet we've ever experienced - and we know our eye fillets pretty well! A highly recommended gem. Thank you.

Good venison poor steak

We ordered 4 mains .
1 fantastic venison . Which I complimented the chef on . 2 salmon which were good .
1 poorly chosen 200 gram steak which could not be eaten. We did advise the waitress but were greeted with a sorry.
I would dine again but be careful of what you choose

Choose your room carefully.

We arrived in light rain for our overnight stay. We parked on Sunderland Street as this was the address shown on our booking confirmation email, and then we weren't sure where to enter. It would have been helpful to have been advised before our stay that the entrance to the accommodation was in Holloway Street. We booked the Tack room, and while it was nicely styled this stable room was very small with not even a chair to sit on. Nor was there a window so it was quite dark unless the top half of the door was open.
Had the weather been fine, this would not have mattered, as we could have sat outside in the pretty courtyard. We took our drinks into the one sitting room, and it was already full of guests.
On the plus side, the owners were very friendly, the breakfast was excellent, and Olivers is centrally located in this historic village.

Outstanding in every way

Our travel agent suggested this stop for us in Clyde. It was so different from all the modern motels we have stayed at on our holiday and is a real gem. Andy & David, who own and run it are delightful. It feels like you’re staying as family in their home but with all the added touches of quality and historical luxury. Our room was stylish coziness with a lovely bathroom. Beautiful pictures everywhere.
Large very comfortable bed. Courtyard garden at the back.
Breakfast was delicious with David’s egg, bacon, cheese and spinach muffins a highlight.
Along with the other events of their business in Clyde this couple are doing it all perfectly.
Thank you for a glorious two nights. Just wish it had been longer!

Great evening

The whole experience was lovely. The chefs went above and beyond giving us a diverse range of the menu.
Will be back, if ever return to Clyde.
