Quiet and lovely positioned family hotel in Sauerland
Bauernstuben - a family hotel from long ago in a recently restored and extended old building but still keeping a cosy appearance in and out.
My very big old fashioned room was situated on second floor with a wonderful view to the church tower and distant small mountains. Being outside on the room balcony one could fill the lunges with the most clean and pleasant air but momently filled with some pollen from the many pine trees surrounding the village, and brought about of the nice breeze in these wonderful sunny days of May.
The breakfast was included and each morning we were asked by the hostess how we wanted our eggs done - I had scramble eggs nicely done in both mornings with some green mixed in - I do not recall the name of this nice plant.
Beside the eggs, there was a small variety of bread and fresh cold cuts aso - more than enough for a really nice breakfast. A big modern coffee machine gave any choice of any coffee one might prefer even coming back at afternoons. Also the hotel promised coffee and cakes in the afternoon, but we never found out, where that was served. We could have asked but forgot - so guess it was not that needed. Furthermore the hotel offers many tables in a nice garden connected to the dining room with playground for children as well.
Outside was a nice spacy parking lot a thing many hotels are in lack of and which brings so must inconvenience when one must carry the suitcases along from car to hotel and back.
I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel and as the area is also for skiing in winter, some might have the possibility at that time as well and still be able to experience the wonderful surroundings.
We had many nice walks and a lot of paths are spread all around from the village in all directions -so put on your wandering boots and grab your walking stick and start exploring - you wont regret for a second.
Why do I not put 5 stars to this visit you may ask? The hotel had just not the kind of luxury that will add one star more, but I gladly give 4 stars for Zûschener Bauernstube in all experienced areas.

Vriendelijk, ustig hotel
Vriendelijke eigenaresse die 's ochtends een praatje met je maakt en naar eigen keus ei voor je klaar maakt. De kamer was ruim en schoon. Onze twee grote honden waren geen probleem en mochten tijdens het skiën in de kamer blijven. Wij hebben geen last gehad van de andere gasten.

Typisch Duits pension met mooie, schone kamers en een heerlijk ontbijt
Mijn vrouw en ik hebben hier 1 nacht doorgebracht. De kamer - met balkon - was ruim, schoon en van alle nodige gemakken voorzien. De luiken kunnen gebruikt worden om o.a. wat lawaai - er loopt vlakbij een drukke N-weg - tegen te gaan. Omdat het een pension is kan men er uitsluitend overnachten en ontbijten. Het konditorei-gedeelte kan 's avonds (is dan gesloten) door de gasten gebruikt worden om te vertoeven en een drankje te nemen. Dit dient men zelf te doen en de gebruikte drankjes op te schrijven en door te geven aan de eigenaren. Iets wat wij dus ook deden; er waren geen andere gasten die hiervan die avond gebruik maakten. Het pension was o.i. redelijk bezet, wij hebben echter nauwelijks wat gemerkt van de andere gasten. Het ontbijt (8h00-10h30) was formidabel en met een zeer uitgebreide keuze: voor elk wat wils. Ook smaakte de koffie (van verse bonen) erg goed. De vriendelijkheid van de eigenaresse zorgde er mede voor dat wij van een prettig, kort verblijf hebben genoten.

Weniger als versprochen
Aufgrund der sehr guten Bewertungen entschieden meine Lebensgefährtin und ich ein Wochenende in der Züschener Bauernstube zu verbringen.
Leider wurden unsere Erwartungen ein wenig enttäuscht. Die Gastgeber bei der Ankunft zwar freundlich, aber danach wurden sie den ganzen Tag nicht mehr gesehen. Zimmer sehr einfach eingerichtet, was uns allerdings nicht weiter störte, da es sich nun mal um ein sehr altes und verwinkeltes Bauernhaus handelt.
Auf dem Zimmer eine Minibar mit längst abgelaufenen Getränken. Dafür gab es am nächsten Tag zumindest eine Entschuldigung. Frühstück sehr spärlich! Brötchen waren zudem knüppel hart...Insgesamt gerade mal zu dem Preis die Note ausreichend bis mangelhaft.
