Does not need to happen again!

Phew… initially, I find it at least questionable that despite my friends' warnings a few weeks ago, the menu on the website still leads to nowhere.
Now to what the menu offered. A good restaurant often reveals itself through the seemingly 'simple' dishes. For me, this includes, for example, a cream schnitzel made from pork. A little more than €18.00 with fries and a salad corresponds to the current prices. However, it was not until the server asked after the order if I would also like a side salad that I realized where this journey was headed.
A salad came first, a schnitzel, unfortunately very little sauce, a few mushrooms, and a handful of fries. Flavor-wise, everything was fine. Unfortunately, the fries were a bit disappointing.
The (no longer so) big surprise came with the bill. Schnitzel with sauce 18.40 € + salad 8.50 €.
26.90 € for ONE schnitzel, with fries, hardly any sauce, and salad. An absolute absurdity, which I have not experienced before. For 18.40 €, I can get two large schnitzels, with lemon, plenty of sauce, a mountain of fries, and a side salad in many other restaurants. Also of better quality.
A few years ago, I was already disappointed, and I continue to be disappointed. Not worth another visit for me!

Price-performance misrepresentation

Only the restaurant is rated here. And here our expectations were more than disappointed. We stayed here with friends for dinner. The ambience leaves something to be desired. Here, a few accessories and one or two carpets would do the restaurant good, which would contribute to the feel-good factor and a better soundscape. So everything seemed a bit "cold." The map as such doesn't give much away and one probably likes to orientate oneself to the "standard" (by the way, dishes that are listed Internet are not to be found on the map). But well, if it tastes good for the listed prices, it should be right. But unfortunately, we were disappointed here too. We ordered 2 salads (one with salmon and rösti, the other with zander and prawns) for the ladies and twice the lamb salmon with provincial sauce, bacon beans and rösti for the men. If you like convenience products, you are probably in good hands here. The salad dressing shone through a pronounced "maggi note", the smoked salmon was ok, the pike perch was also, the shrimp skewer (in the "crispy coat") probably ready-made in the wholesale market and deep-fried, the Rösti just as much a convenience product. The plates of lamb salmon, bacon beans and rösti arrived completely cold. The lamb salmon as such were of a generally good quality and were well and medium fried. Provincial sauce was probably focused on "province", far from what you would expect. After complaints regarding the cold dishes, this was cleared again and then brought back warm. In terms of taste, however, it did not get any better. Lack of seasoning, zero umami. If necessary, a little salt and pepper would have helped. The service staff apologized afterwards for the temperature faux pas and the espresso afterwards went on the house. The wine selection is also rather poor. All in all, price and performance are not in proportion. (too expensive for what arrives at the table). In this respect, we cannot recommend the restaurant. If necessary, however, this criticism provides the incentive to change something here. Otherwise it would be a shame for this location.

Absolutely not recommended

We booked a week at the hotel in December 2025 after the change of ownership. On arrival day no heating went, the water was freezing cold, showers therefore not possible. Television was also not possible, as the television reception is only analogue, but ARD and ZDF can only be received digitally. In the “Premium” double room there was only a dessert lamp and a chair. After the following day still no heating went, we stopped our stay there prematurely. According to the staff, the problem with the heating has existed for several weeks. Discount for this lousy performance? Misrepresentation...

We can only rate the restaurant and were disappointed. About the many good reviews we spent our wedding day there and were disappointed with the value for money and the service.

Grosse Enttäuschung

Die Erfahrungen aus der Vergangenheit (zuletzt Dez 2025) waren eigentlich positiv.
Doch der gestrige Abend führt zu der Entscheidung --Kein weiterer Besuch- !!!
Wir hatten reserviert, nahmen Platz und warteten dann schon mal 20 Minuten bis man uns wieder entdeckte und zumindest einmal die Speisekarte aushändigte und die Getränkebestellung aufnahm. Zwei "Sarti-Sprizz" und eine Flasche Wasser kamen zwar recht zügig, doch mussten wir den "Sprizz" zurückgeben, da er so dünn war , dass mann durch das Glas sehend noch die umliegende Landschaft bewundern konnte. Wir bekamen dann "Neue" die auch dann dem Preis von 8,50 € entsprachen.
Dann aber die grosse Enttäuschung: Eine durchaus sehr überschaubare Speisekarte !! Auf unsere Bestellung bekamen wir zeitnah
ein max 200gr grosses Cordon Bleu mit einer "handvoll" Pommes Frittes für 29.00 €. und eine Portion Spinat Ravioli für 22,00 €, die in anderen Restaurants als Kinder- oder Seniorenteller serviert wird. Und beide Gerichte noch ohne Salat. Hatten wir total "überlesen" .
Nun ja, wir brauchen keine Schnitzel die über den Tellerrand äugen, auch keine Ravioli wo die Frage am Ende kommt : "Soll ich den Rest einpacken" ? Da Theley selbst keine Alternative bietet betrachte ich den Großraum.
Hier sind sowohl ein/zwei Landgasthöfe und auch ein/zwei " Restaurant die für unser fast 80 € eine bessere "Leistung " erbringen.

Ich habe dies auch kurz mit dem Restaurantleiter besprochen. Er hat sich für meine Anmerkungen bedankt. !! Die "Speisekarte, die Kalkulation sei neu.......
Für uns gibt es in nächster Zunkunft kein Wiedersehen.
