Short vacation at the castle hotel

We were there as a family for a 3-night short vacation. We had very hot weather, and a refrigerator in the room would be desirable. The room was very small for us, and an extra bed should never be set up on the couch; children also have a right to a restful night. Otherwise, the premises were adequate.

Visit to Stolpen Castle

We were very satisfied with our visit to the restaurant. The service was very open and friendly. The ordered food was served quickly. Very tasty and quite extensive.

With the Porscheclub at Burghotel Stolpen

Once again I was with an automobile club in the Burghotel Stolpen. After being so enthusiastic the first time, I went on a tour there with my friends from Porsche Club Nibelungen in Worms. The hotel is very family run with friendly and polite staff. Even the arrangement with castle tour and evening menu fully met our expectations. Also the individuality of the rooms (themed rooms) was very demanding. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent parking facility, which is also very suitable for such matters. Due to the central location it was very good to visit the Bastei the Clock Museum, Glashütte or the fortress Königstein. All in all a great long weekend. We were even lucky, the weather played along!

In the middle of no where

Excellent hotel, right next to the "burg" castle which is also worth a visit. The rooms are very clean and recently refurbished. All are en-suite, and available for single or double occupancy. The hotel restaurant has a nice balcony area to eat and drink, and views over the Saxon countryside. Quite close to Dresden, so easy to get to.

family-run hotel in rural area with good restaurant

Familiy-run comfortable hotel in authentic medieval building, at the entrance of picturesque castle Stolpen. Individual room design focused on small details. Situated in rural area, close to Dresden (1/2h drive or 45min with an intercity bus). Scenic view. Good service, great variability of thematic rooms, very quiet. Very good restaurant. For kids: playground in a park next to the hotel. Magical little town of Stolpen.
Not optimal for business meetings: small meeting room, bad air condition, connected with the bar (noisy). The hotel has fitting carpets which might be a problem for allergy sufferers.
