Very pleasant stay

Very well located hotel in the heart of Merzig. Spacious parking facilities including charging for e-cars. Very attentive and friendly staff. Delicious regional cuisine in the restaurant. Cosy rooms.

Dear Chef, what were you thinking?

Visiting the Roman's restaurant, an experience I would have liked to do without. To mention the postive first, we had the precious fish plate: The fish was of good quality and fried to the point!! Thanks for that!! That's why it's puzzling to me how boiled, too soft TC vegetables find their way to the guest. Likewise, potato halves boiled too softly and almost unseasoned, thrown unmotivated into a bowl. 2 much too heavy flour-bound sauces, even without spices and flavors. What chef puts that out there. I'd be ashamed of that.
A lamb's salad that came drowned in a sauce that was far too heavy and salty. Who does that? The ambience, certainly functional but out of time and friendly but helpless staff who could no longer assign the food and drinks to any guest when serving.
