Gigantic hotel - oversized hotel

We had a very pleasant stay at the Maritim Hotel Cologne. Upon arrival, we were seduced by the warm and professional welcome of the staff, always available and attentive. This first positive impression was confirmed throughout our stay.
Our room was comfortable, clean and well equipped, providing a relaxing setting after our visiting days. The quality bedding and the calm of the space contributed greatly to our comfort.
Breakfast was also a real pleasure: varied, generous and composed of fresh products. The choice allows everyone to find their happiness, and the atmosphere of the buffet is pleasant.
However, a few points deserve to be highlighted. The hotel is huge, almost outsized, which can give a slightly impersonal impression and make internal travel less fluid. Moreover, we had to restart the reception twice to make the room, a surprising detail and below what is expected of a four-star property.
Overall, we have a great memory of our stay, but some adjustments in the organization would further strengthen the experience.

There are, however, a couple of points worth mentioning. The hotel is huge, almost overwhelmingly so, which can make it feel a bit impersonal and sometimes complicate moving around inside the building. In addition, we had to contact the reception twice before housekeeping came to service the room — something rather unexpected for a hotel that presents itself as a four-star establishment.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay, but a few adjustments in daily operations would make the experience even better.

Hotel in the center

The hotel is centrally located but already a bit older. The rooms are okay but clean.
By and large, the hotel could use a renovation.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was brilliant.
We would book the hotel again immediately despite its age.

A lovely hotel with great facilities. The bedroom was very comfortable, quiet and good air con. We loved the breakfast for the variety and most important for us that it was gluten free friendly. A special shout out for excellent male waitor in rooftop restaurant, very good at his job. Also food was super.

We rent three rooms. In one room pillows were smelly and they changed it on request. Overall good service and best location.
