Fantastic location and cozy aesthetic—worth the stairs!
Great if you are looking for a central spot in Cologne. The location is an easy walk to both the Cologne Cathedral, Museum Ludwig, and the main train station.
Check-in & Service:
I arrived quite early and there wasn’t anyone at the desk yet, so I had a bit of a wait to check in. There is a self-check-in option, but only works when you arrived at the designated check-in time. My room had quite not been ready yet, but they allowed me to store my stuff in the room until it was finished.
Atmosphere & Noise:
The hotel is tucked away in an alley. Since there are bars and restaurants nearby, you can hear definitely hear people outside. Personally, I didn’t find it disruptive at all, but light sleepers might want to keep it in mind. The overall aesthetic is super cozy and well-curated—I really loved the vibe of the room.
A Few Logistics:
No Elevator: Be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs!
Dining: There is a great spot called Lint No7 right next door. It’s incredibly convenient if you want a quick cafe experience without having to search the city.
Overall, a lovely, stylish stay in the heart of Cologne. I’d definitely return!

Unfortunately I visited Koln in the middle of the heat wave. This hotel does NOT have an AC and the temperature in my room kept constant 33 degrees C (day and night). There was a not-so-big mobile fan in the room but it was delicately moving the air and the conditions required solid cooling. There was nobody I could talk to in the hotel when I came, I had problems with finding the hotel as there is different building number in the description I was provided than the actual number of the building where the hotel is located. What's more there is no indication of the hotel on the door and there was nobody at reception to ask. The second day when I spotted a receptionist I was informed that the owner informed by mail guests about the lack of AC in the premises and allowed everyone the resign from the previous reservations. This communication was never delivered to me. I was informed I could change the hotel and "for sure" I would get the refund. I reserved other hotel for the remaining 2 nights but never again heard a word from the hotel administration (despite my 2 messages to them). I don't recommend staying in the hotel that can't even respond to their customers and resolve quite simple matters.

Breakfast is a seperate company and is not functioning optimal. One has to choose among app 4 different "meals" and no flexibility.

Our room was on the 5th floor up several flights of spiral stairs. We had backpacks, so this was manageable, but we avoided too many trips back to the room. The bed was in a loft with an angled roof. The balcony was charming with a view over rooftops to the Dom. Some noise from the beer halls was still audible even on the 5th floor. Space was tight but the storage was creative. Everything was very clean and staff cleaned and refreshed towels during the stay. The bathroom was modern and efficient.

Clean neat and compact room. Well appointed with all that I needed for a short stay. A little noisy outside, but not obtrusive. Recommended.
