Nordhessische Spezialitäten und guter Service

Wer auf gute und qualitativ hochwertige nordhessische Spezialitäten steht, der ist hier genau richtig. Tolles Ambiente, urig eingerichtet mit guten Getränken und sehr leckerem Essen. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist super und der Service macht eine super Arbeit. Alles in allem immer ein Besuch wert.
Erwähnenswert und vor allem empfehlenswert sind die hausgemachten Artikel wie Leberwurst oder Pfefferbeißer, die im Restaurant angeboten werden.

Needs a shakeup

When we arrived we had a problem finding someone to check us in even though we were at a time when they were due to be open. After about half an hour, just as we were on the point of leaving, someone appeared. A bad and unacceptable start.
Our room was OK at first glance. Later on we discovered that the bed linen was very old with tears and holes in the sheets.
We had our evening meal in the restaurant, it was very good.
On first arrival in the bar/restaurant the barmaid/waitress studiously ignored us, just turned her back and continued washing glasses. At this point we would have walked out had there been any nearby alternatives. When she did finally decide to serve us her behaviour improved a bit.
We had the included, NOT free,breakfast which was reasonable.
In summary this place is in need of a shakeup, it gives the distinct impression of being on the way down. Investment and a general facelift very much needed.

Family hotel

It was a great stay. The hotel accommodation is pretty basic and a bit old but the family atmosphere of the hotel gives it an edge. You feel at home as you are always greeted with by a smiley friendly face. It's a nice small old hotel in a relaxing area.

Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

Das Hotel Eichholz liegt zwar nicht zentral, ist sowohl mit dem Auto als auch mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln aber sehr gut erreichbar. Positiv ist auch zu vermerken, dass man in dem angeschlossenen Lokal sowohl mittags essen als auch abends noch ein Bier trinken kann (im Sommer ist auch ein Biergarten vorhanden).
Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis der Zimmer ist gut, auch wenn zumindest mein Zimmer in nächster Zeit einiger Renovierungsarbeiten bedarf (kleine Risse an den Wänden, eine nur schwer zu schließende Duschkabinentür). In der Biergartenzeit und bei Zimmern zum Biergarten kann es abends etwas lauter werden. Für Stadthotels ist das aber im durchaus normalen Rahmen. Insgesamt ein empfehlendswertes Hotel.
