Outstanding staff and the breakfast was out of this world. The only vaveat at this hotel was the lack of aitconditioning which means that we suffered through a couple of rough very warm summernights.

We had a great night in this beautiful hotel. The whole place and our room had a royal feel about it, which was a both fun and comfortable experience.
Great hotel and location.
The breakfast, in particular the a la carte menu, was very delicious!

Traditional hotel in the best location of Göttingen

Located exactly between the train station and the "navel" (central intersection of the Göttingen pedestrian zone) - each just a two-minute walk away - the hotel offers the best starting point to discover Göttingen. What some reviewers have described as "a bit dusty" is what I was looking for. A traditional hotel with noticeable history and carpets :)
The room was huge - more like a small suite, the bathroom was quite new and clean, and the bed was great. The staff was friendly - even at 4:00 AM after having a good time with old schoolmates.
Room cleaning was discreet, the minibar was stocked and free! I have never had a better breakfast (exquisite selection!) with such a pleasantly quiet atmosphere in a hotel of this still quite acceptable price range.
Unfortunately, the parking situation is indeed somewhat limited....but hey: we are in the medieval old town right next to the train station, and you can of course reserve a parking space. There are also other paid parking options in the nearby area.
If you prefer clean Motel Ones or interchangeable mid-range chain hotels, this is not the place for you. If you want to experience a bit of old hotel culture, you should stop here when you are in Göttingen.

The hotel looks great on the photos, receptionist was friendly. The room was ice cold and building inside in general looks like its never been refreshed.
