A perfect stay. Staff was super friendly, beds were very comfortable, room was very clean, breakfast was very good value for the price.

Things went wrong before arrival

I can only warn you; I had a firm booking confirmed since May via Booking.com. The host then tried in early June to get more than €200 more out of me for the stay behind Booking's back. I referred them to Booking and the written confirmation and heard nothing more for over 4 weeks until 2 days before the start of the trip. I therefore relied on the booking confirmation. Then yesterday evening I received a confused email saying she determines the prices, Booking is only an intermediary, and no one can stay with her for €60—which no one intended to do anyway; €540 for a 6-day stay was confirmed. I tried one more time to get a written clarification and was then quite rudely pressured to cancel the booking. I wanted to travel tomorrow The room is still being offered on Booking for 540€. Let's see who the next victim is. I have never encountered such behavior before.

Great hotel, excellent cuisine.

Excellent hotel room in dependence. Very spacious and clean.
Three times eaten in the restaurant, fourth time could not because Sundays the kitchen is closed. Very nice food, also the breakfast is top! Hotel Carstens is highly recommended!
