After 50 years I finally get to stay at the Historic Rheinhotel Dreesen

I used to live in Bonn before the wall came down, my father worked at the Embassy and all the important visitors stayed at the Rheinhotel. I always longed to stay one day! I was able to make that wish a reality this year when we returned to Bonn and stayed for 5 nights. What I loved the most is the location and history of this beautiful hotel, the staff was very welcoming and helpful and the morning breakfast buffet a delight. What I would say needs improving is the hotel is becoming worn and the carpets are pretty dirty, the hotel just needs some general cleaning and perhaps some upgrades. We had a balcony room with a beautiful view of the Rhein, the only real issue we had was it was very warm, but we couldn't leave the windows and doors open at night because too many bugs and spiders came in, I think it would be great if they could at least add screens to the upper windows over the doors.

Nice beer garden with a great view of the Rhine and the Siebengebirge mountains.

The beer garden of Hotel Dreesen is located directly on the Rhine with a wonderful view of the Siebengebirge mountains. The food and drink menus are quite varied, the quality of the food is typical for a beer garden, and in terms of price, you also pay for the view of the Rhine and the Siebengebirge mountains. You can only pay by card; cash payment is not possible. Overall, we had a nice evening here. If the service staff were a bit more attentive and engaged, it would do the casual beer garden atmosphere good.

We had an amazing stay after a long drive. The biergarten was, without a doubt, what made this experience as close to perfect as possible. The atmosphere was simply incredible, and we had a wonderful stay at a fantastic hotel in such a beautiful city.

Nice stay

Very friendly and attentive, very loud at night in the inner courtyard due to guests talking loudly, for which the hotel was not responsible and was itself trying to ensure more quiet.
