Charming, quaint, affordable

Me and my wife stayed here in March 2021 and again in May 2022. If you are expecting luxury hotel, this is not it. This hotel however, is very quaint, affordable, and charming. Holbox has grown immensely in the past 5 years, and this hotel is a reminder of old Holbox.

3-star hotel on the beach where there is plenty of room for improvement. Great location, terrible attention on the beach.

Bad attitude of the employees who work on the beach, are boorish telling the customer how to spend their morning like sitting, etc. As they “work” and rake the beach overlooking all the trash in the sand, which they could lift. There's an old man who's working very hard to ruin one's morning. An already great and bitter gentleman. It's a shame they ruin what could be a great hotel like that.

Small and Basic

4 roomed beachfront hotel. Rooms a good size. Big comfy bed. No wardrobe or drawers to unpack your clothes. They did bring us up a rail when we asked. No kettle in the room or available so we couldn’t make ourselves any tea or coffee which was a big negative. They don’t serve breakfast until 8.30. If you’re up at 7 like us, it’s too long a wait to get a drink. Small shower room. Shower head would greatly benefit from de-scaling. Room was kept clean but a note from the maid basically said the tip we left her daily would denote how clean the room would be!!!! Nice breakfast but we rarely ate it together as they only seemed to serve one at a time!! Scruffy old beach chairs. It wouldn’t take much to make the beach area look better than it does. You could do worse but, if you can afford a better hotel then I would recommend you go to one!

Unethical management and misrepresentation

I checked into Hotelito Crismi in March 2020. On hotels.com, the room & property was represented as a "bungalow". It is not a bungalow, but a 4-room hotel with bungalow feel. Lots of stairs. It isn't 100% adults only as there is a rear ground floor room in back where a family was staying with children. I was willing to overlook this because the room was clean. It is beachfront (views upper rooms only).
My big issue is that I was checked by reception manager, Anahi, knowing that there had been loud music/rave parties at the property next door. These had been ongoing for several days. My room by 5 PM on check-in day was shaking from the vibration of the rave music. Anahi acknowledged the rave the night before was until 5 am. She helped relocate me to another hotel and promised a refund of the 2 nights for my visit affected by the rave music. This refund has yet to materialize. It's been 2 months and I am continuing to pursue (this is May 2020). No response to emails or phone calls to the hotel. They never answer the phone.
I was not the only guest affected by the music. Other guests left as well. I stayed at the property for 2 nights with fewer issues (still techno music from next door, not as loud). I cannot recommend as staff/hotel is not ethical as they clearly don't honor their word or process refunds (even with paperwork). They knew party was going to happen the day I checked in and did nothing but take my money for nights that I didn’t even stay there.

The highlight of our Mexico trip

Holbox was the last destination of our 3 week trip around Yucatan and Quintana Roo. Hotelito Crismi was the cherry on the cake! We got the feeling of paradise without loud noises (only birds!) or crazy parties at night. The room was super comfy, breakfast was delicious, and the employees super nice. Each night we only had to walk out the door to have mesmerizing sunsets Hope to come back!!
