Beautifl Riad in Fes
Beautiful rooms, lovely atmosphere, staff friendly and helpful and amazing view from the roof top terrace. Highly recommend.

An Amazing Dining Experience
We had an AMAZING dining experience at Dar Roumana. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the setting was stunning. Shortly after receiving our cocktails, my brother spilled his all over the table. Within minutes, our server dashed to the rescue and suggested we enjoy our drinks nearby while he reset the entire table. That personal care set the whole tone for our evening. We were the last to leave and had the pleasure to enjoy a conversation with the manager and our server. The care and attention to detail (and the delicious food) were among our most memorable moments.

Stunning place, delicious food, simply wonderful staff!
The riad was exquisitely beautiful, but the true highlight was the staff. Warm and friendly, helpful, kind. They thought of everything we could possibly need or want to have a special time. They brought tea to the roof with a stunning view, and prepared a delicious breakfast in the jaw-droppingly pretty courtyard. The food was so good we ate dinner in the restaurant multiple times. In the early morning and evening I sat on our balcony and just listened to the delightful chirping birds of Fes. We were grateful to the manager Redouane, who helped us to find a guide for Fes, and a driver-guide for our next stops in the Sahara and beyond. We will never forget our magical time in Fes, and at Dar Roumana.

Outstanding Service, Romantic Views, and the Best "Dinner Escort" Service!
Dar Roumana was exactly as advertised, beautiful, luxury, and a true highlight of our time in Fes. Even during the quieter season, the staff was incredibly attentive and ensured every detail of our stay was perfect. No ask, was too great. This gem of a spot was the best Riad/Dar experience we had in Morocco and would easily have cost 3x in a US or Euro city.
The Room & Amenities
The rooms are gorgeous, bright, and furnished with high-end Moroccan decor. The beds and pillows were some of the most comfortable of our trip, and the shower had excellent heat and water pressure. The rooftop offers a stunning view of the city, it’s the perfect spot for a romantic sunset.
Dining: A Must-Visit Restaurant
The food at the on-site restaurant was outstanding, creative, delicious and very reasonably priced. While the breakfast was "fine" (standard compared to the incredible dinners), it definitely got the job done. The service was incredible!
The Location & "The Walker"
A noteworthy detail: Fes is hilly, and this Dar is located high up. While this makes for a wonderful, quiet atmosphere away from the noise, the walk up at the end of the day can be a bit of a workout! BUT WORTH IT. They offer an absolute 5-star service: a staff member will walk you to and from dinner in the Medina. This was such a treat, as the streets can be confusing at night. (Note: Please remember to tip your walker; it is a service well worth it!)
Pro Tip: Have the hotel book your tour guide and specifically ask for Hicham. He is a 1000/10 and made our Fes experience seamless and insightful.

Superlative
Dar Roumana, without question, should be the central pillar of your journey through Morocco. It has been the highlight of mine, standing out among the 5000km I have traveled by road between Switzerland and the border with Mauritania.
It is, to me, the perfect place to stay. Soaked in centuries of culture, it is for me the embodiment of what a Riad should be.. these old houses, almost sanctuaries, with their inner courtyards and calm and art in every millimeter.
Redouane has been of incredible help here. He has gone beyond what could be expected, organizing special requests I had in Fès, far beyond the walls of the Riad, so that I could have things produced that I will keep for life. I will always be grateful to him.
Nezha has been incredibly gracious and warm, and I cheer her on, on her journey.
The architecture, the food, the obviously love that has been put in, the service, the incredible character of the place.. I would love to return.
