Top location with parking!
Very nice, larger riad right on the edge of the medina with a large guarded parking lot and a beautiful pool on the roof—which was perfect given the high outside temperatures. At this time of year, there are not so many tourists in the city, but excursions shift to the morning and late afternoon/evening, so it is great to be able to spend the warmest time of the day by the pool. Our room with two bathrooms and 2 bedrooms was very nice, well air-conditioned, and very clean; we were completely satisfied. The entire team was extraordinarily friendly and warm, especially the gentleman who monitored the parking lot! Very good breakfast in the magnificent courtyard. We would certainly come back again on a future visit!

Definitely not a 5 star Riyad
The rooms are dark and dated, and the front desk staff was not courteous and seemed to have an attitude. The breakfast was terrible initially, but after we complained, they did make an effort to improve it. Overall, I would not rate this hotel more than three stars.

Excellent stay
We spent an excellent stay at Dar Lys in Fes and we will keep a very beautiful memory of it.
The real strong point of the establishment is without a doubt the staff: wonderful, available, attentive and always listening. We never heard "that's not possible": they are always looking for a solution to satisfy their clients, and that is really very appreciable.
The rooms are magnificent, decorated with great taste, and the pool is very pleasant. Its depth of about 1.07 m was actually perfect for being able to enjoy it quietly with my daughter.
The breakfast is varied and there is a lot of choice. The only small downside of our stay perhaps concerns a part of the catering: some products, notably the chicken pastilla, the briouats (for dinner) or even the msemen (at breakfast), sometimes gave us the impression of being reheated rather than prepared to order.
On the other hand, special mention for the spaghetti bolognese from the children's menu, which my daughter loved, and especially for the lamb shank, which was excellent!
This remains a detail compared to the overall quality of the stay. Dar Lys is a very beautiful address in Fes, with human and attentive service that really makes the difference. We would return there with great pleasure.

Wonderful stay
We stayed for two days as a family at Dar Lys and we are leaving delighted.
The place is simply magical. Every detail has been thought out with great taste and care. The decor, typically Moroccan, beautifully highlights local craftsmanship: the zellige, the ceilings, the materials, the decorative objects... everything is refined and executed with great meticulousness.
The cleanliness is impeccable, the establishment is perfectly maintained, which makes the stay even more pleasant.
A big thank you also to the whole team, always smiling, attentive, and very kind. We felt welcomed with a lot of warmth.
We had a wonderful family stay and will keep an excellent memory of Dar Lys. We recommend this establishment without the slightest hesitation and hope to have the pleasure of returning.

Haughty and unpleasant staff
I do not recommend this riad. After booking online, we were welcomed and herded into a lounge. An employee asked for our passports, which is normal, but also for our entry numbers into Morocco... 1st time we have been asked that. We reside in Morocco... So this request is very strange. We did not proceed with the reservation. Haughty and unpleasant staff. Which goes against the basic hospitality that one finds in Morocco. We went to the Riad Semlalia.... Without any comparison.
