Small and quaint with a wonderful harbour front setting and excellent hosts.
As soon as we got out of the taxi we were delighted that when it said "harbour front", it meant it!
The single one way road in front of the hotel was quiet and the harbour, with all its fishing boats was literally across the road.
Everything in the room was just as we expected as shown in the video sent to us by our hostesss, Mariella.
Our room had just been finished after conversion and although on the ground floor at the back of the lodge, it was spacious, with a kitchenette, including toaster and microwave as a bonus. The bathroom had an air of quality, again which was very nice.
There was a sliding door and stairs leading to a small outside sitting space. The bed was spacious and comfortable, there was plenty of hanging space and hangers for our needs.
After a stroll along the harbour front, salivating at the many fish restaurants we passed, with catch of the day in ice on display, we decided to head back to get some sleep.
We both slept very well and woke up looking forward to our breakfast.
The night before we had both requested cooked items, Egg, Bacon, Sausage and Baked Beans.
Breakfast didn't disappoint, not only offering hot food but toast, ham, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber as well as cereals, yogurts and Dolce Gusto Coffee and various teas.
Please remember, this only has 5 lovely rooms, 2 sea front and 3 at the rear, it's not big on size but big on value and service.
The dining room is at the front as you enter, with 5 small tables.
This is a small quaint place to stay, with lovely rooms and the most excellent hosts in Mariella and Roland.
Marsaxlokk is a fishing village with plenty of harbour front restaurants cooking the most delightful food.
We walked all around the harbour every day and the Shipwright's Lodge was the perfect location with great, comfortable accommodation.
Our hosts couldn't have been nicer and we both look forward to coming back again for both the location, where we stayed and the excellent food on offer.
