We had a splendid 2D1N stay for Mom's birthday. It was great to be able to watch folks surf on a private beach. The room is quite spacious with amazing ocean views. However, entrance to the villa was quite challenging for the elderly or those with special needs because you had to take the stairs to your villa and then up for buggy services. The breakfast was also fantastic! Definitely will be our main place to stay in Cherating! .

A highly frustrating stay – not up to the Royale Chulan standard
Having previously stayed at Royale Chulan Damansara, Royale Chulan The Curve, and Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur, I had certain expectations for my stay at Royale Chulan Chalet Cherating. Unfortunately, this was hands-down my most frustrating experience with the brand.
The major downsides of my stay included:
1. Zero Bellman Service: After a long, exhausting drive, there was no bellman available to assist with bags. I had to push the heavy luggage cart to my room and return it to the lobby myself.
2. Poor Customer Service: When I requested an extra towel, I was shocked to be told that no extra towel service is provided.
3. Outdated Rooms: The room felt run-down and had a distinct, unpleasant "old furniture" smell.
The major downsides of my stay included:

Relaxing except during rain
The location was very convenient. The room was quite spacious, but the major issue happened during rain. The air conditioner compressor enclosure produced a very loud noise when the rain hit it. Atmosphere was very relaxing, clean and worth of the price value.

Square, practical but not really good.
A relatively new hotel complex fairly sober but clean. Rooms adequate, mainly used by surfers who romp on the nearby beach despite the poor water quality and are probably so ready in the evening that it does not bother them that the aircondtion of the neighboring room is felt next to their own bed and the refrigerator apparently thinks it is a 747. The beds are very okay and the breakfast buffet is sure to be great for those who like fatty pasta, sausages, rice and whatever else you can prepare with plenty of oil. Luckily, there was also omelette, toast and something that was offered under the name butter. There was melon and melon a bit poor for a country where so many delicious fruits grow almost next door. So to sleep for one night okay, square, practical but not really good.

Comfortable but Could Improve
Overall, the hotel was good, but there is still room for improvement.
It would be better if the hotel had a swimming pool for guests to enjoy, especially since it’s not directly facing the sea and the beach nearby is in a cove. These facilities would make the stay more fun and relaxing, especially for families.
The buffet breakfast also didn’t have many choices, which was a bit disappointing. More variety would make the meal more enjoyable.
On the bright side, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, which made our stay more pleasant.
