A Perfect Christmas Getaway at Kokol Haven Resort
We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Kokol Haven Resort, and it was truly a memorable and relaxing festive getaway.
We stayed in the Executive Corner Suite, which was exceptionally spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The room felt luxurious yet cozy—perfect for unwinding during the holidays. One of the absolute highlights was the spectacular panoramic view of Kota Kinabalu City. Waking up to the misty hills and cityscape, especially during sunrise and sunset, was simply breathtaking and made our Christmas stay extra special.
The food also deserves a special mention. The resort’s signature thin crust pizza was outstanding—crispy, flavourful, and easily one of the best we’ve had. It was the perfect comfort food to enjoy while soaking in the cool mountain atmosphere.
The peaceful surroundings, attentive service, and serene ambience made Kokol Haven Resort an ideal escape from the city, especially during the festive season. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for such a wonderful experience.
Highly recommended for couples or anyone looking for a tranquil retreat with stunning views. We would definitely love to return! ✨

Accomodation is okie but the meals is quite expensive and limited choice.Hope they will come out with more choices.
Hi, good evening I was booking thru the booking.com every thing was okie turn out on our checking in. When we have dinner at the restaurant there we ordered the asam pedas oxtail cost me about rm45++ is quite expensive n only with cracker n plain rice. Last time I think they all have more choices for but now just limited choice only and they used plastic cups for hot drinks is not good. On our breakfast menu on 08/2 hopeful they will add on more choices on the breakfast menu.

I had a very disappointing experience on New Year’s Eve 2025. My overnight stay was so unpleasant that I ended up checking out at 1:00 a.m. despite checking in at 8:00 p.m. After enjoying the dinner buffet at the restaurant, I entered the room for the first time at 1:00 a.m., only to be greeted by a spider with many legs and a photo frame covered in spider webs on the wall.
The spider was actively moving around, and we were worried it might come near us while we slept. I immediately reported this to the reception, hoping to switch to a better room. Unfortunately, they only offered to clean the room rather than provide a replacement or cancellation option, which was disappointing but understandable.
The room’s overall condition was also subpar, with an uncomfortable smell that made the stay even worse. It was not the New Year’s experience I had hoped for.

1 star quality for 5 stars price
Probably the worst resort I have ever stayed. The room charge was RM500, price of 4 star hotel, but totally not worth it. The room size is ok, but dirty, smelly, and old. They don’t even bother to refill shampoo dispenser. They charge RM20 for extra towel, RM5 for extra sugar, creamer etc. i have never seen any hotel with such hospitality. They made us feel that they want to rip us off in every single opportunity.
The facilities around the resort is so run down and badly maintained. And the menu price in the restaurant is almost like shangri La resort price. RM 28 for fried rice, fried noodle, Teh Tarik cost Rm10, whereas the resort setting is like coffee shop. The food quality is bad, tastes like frozen food.
However, the staff service was ok, good attitude. This resort is only ruined by greedy owner and management who doesn’t know how to run a hotel.
I will not recommend this place to anyone, I think it brings bad image to KK. The owner should sell it if they don’t know how to run the business.

The service provided was excellent, the rooms were dated and could be updated. The views were amazing, though driving up by yourself is quite daunting, especially when driving in the dark as there isn’t any lighting along the road. Definitely worth a stay at Kokol Haven Resort.
