Impressive and quiet

Sunday drive up to the mansion for lunch. Quiet and easy parking available. The only table there for now. Order a few western dishes complete with dessert and drinks. Lunch was serve in a short time. Surrounding is great, lots of green, and polite staffs. Will be back again.

A hidden mansion and smoke house in Balik Pulau

Botanica Mansion can easily be the new landmark in Balik Pulau with its "multipurpose" refurbished mansion, a smoke house bungalow, a clubhouse and a restaurant. It consists of 4 distinctive guest rooms with two larger rooms located inside the double storey smoke house. The ultimate guest room is called "Smoke House" which is on the first floor with room size of about 818 sq ft (equivalent to size of some Penang apartments). All rooms are fully renovated from ceiling to floor so there is no worry on the aged furniture.
The surrounding is pretty quiet most of them time and is a good place for weekend getaway. Not many shops outside of the mansion and one may need vehicle to travel around.

tranquility at its best

Admittedly, this hotel is a bit out of the way but is a wonderfully renovated colonial mansion with views of the old plantations, fruit trees and an air show of birds to keep you occupied. There is a gym and a nice pool to relax in. Credit to the staff, especially Bob, who looked after us on our one night visit. I am told that there is horse riding and quad bikes to hire in the near village but for one night we were content to chill
