Imperfectly perfect nature lodge on the lake

10/10. This is exactly what I look for in a nature lodge. Not 5 star but imperfectly perfect. The grounds are lush, there’s steps meandering down to the lake, the pool is surrounded by greenery and there are rooms for just about everybody. I was in Chalet 6 on a series of boulders on a cliff above the lake. A dozen baboons played in the tree in front of my deck all morning. Then they would commute across my deck to a tree behind my hut. You could not leave your room door open unattended, even for a minute! There was electricity, but only a lone ceiling fan in the loft bedroom up a steep set of stairs. And it was hot. The bathroom was rustic, outside with no door and I used it often to cool down in the shower when I was too lazy to walk to the pool. They offered to move me to a hotel room with air conditioning, wi fi and a TV, but no lake view, and I passed. The staff was universally friendly and the food great, especially the Chambo fish from the lake. They really could use more than one tiny ice cube tray though.

I would say this place is ideal for a weekend by the lake. There is hot water, clean bedding, direct access to the lake, and a nice bar area. The pool is also great.
The people who work here are really helpful and nice.
Its not a luxury stay but very nice.

Unique discovery at the Malawi lake

Fantastic lodge to spend a relaxing couple of days.
Beautiful surroundings and comfortable and very clean rooms.
Great view over the lake where you see the boats from the nearby fisher’s village.
What also makes this place unique is the welcoming atmosphere, created by the staff!

An amazing experience away from the city life!

The place is serene and always a good getaway surrounded by water, monkeys and cozy chalets fit for different family sizes. Beach is excellent for meditation at sunrise or at sunset if you prefer. Staff are friendly and ready to help
The breakfast was however cold and there was no variety compared to the other visits.

Good location above the lake with nice sunset views.

The lake is very full at the moment so there is no beach and the area next to the lake is dirty, but that is not their fault. Better to check lake levels before booking this place else you will have no beach.
Nice location next to the lake, set a bit above the lake. Lovely, well-kept gardens.
Chalets are comfortable if you don't mind climbing down steep stairs to the upstairs room. Very nice bar and the view from the bar at sunset is is wonderful. Breakfast was very good.
There were no internet on the first day, following morning only intermittent internet at reception. The cellphone signal is also very bad.
