More than a resort, a real experience
The bungalows are clean and cozy, the food is good, and the owner, Dario, is a wonderful person — always kind and helpful.
There’s a small fishing village next door, and from the beach you can watch the daily life of the community: boats coming and going, kids playing, people working and chatting. It’s something simple, but it adds a lot to the experience.
The part that stayed with me the most, though, is the atmosphere at the bar/restaurant: it’s really easy to meet people, share travel stories and life experiences, and have meaningful conversations. More than just a resort, it feels like a small community.
A place where I felt really good and would happily come back.

Ci scusiamo per la tavoletta del water che era stata rotta dal cliente precedente ed é comunque stata prontamente cambiata.
Per il resto, lei ha scelto la camera più economica e sapeva benissimo che non disponeva di acqua calda, ha visitato la struttura e ha scelto la sistemazione più economica, per poi lamentarsi?

Simple hotel but very good for whale watching
Arrival is by open boat from Tulear. In Tulear you are transported to the boat on zebu carts or tractor trailers, so small luggage makes sense. Note: You have to take your shoes off when you get out and get in the water.
Unfortunately, the water was very cold, so we could not go swimming.
The facility is nicely designed, many whale bones were used.
We were traveling with an agency and stayed in a bungalow on the beach. Location and views and the terrace are very nice but the room is really very basic. It got very cold at night, but it goes in everywhere. There is only a linen and a plush blanket for the bed. The mattress is - as everywhere in Madagascar - rather firm.
The room was locked with a padlock. This could be easily put on in the locked state. There was no safe or similar.
The other rooms on the homepage look much better, we would therefore recommend a better equipped room (superior).
The restaurant is ok. Spaghetti costs 30,000 ariary. The Service especially at breakfast is very slow. We were also completely forgotten and only got to 3. Ask for something. There is also only one person speaking English in the hotel/restaurant.
The hotel is great for whale watching tours. A tour for two people cost 47 EUR, but you only accept euros in cash! We went in a small boat and saw a lot of humpback whales and dolphins, a real highlight!
Conclusion: For a short stay ok. The main reason for us was the whale watching tour.
