Authentic Malagasy experience

An authentic Malagasy style hotel with comfortable and air-conditioned bungalows, with stunning sea views and a terrace equipped with deckchairs to enjoy the sea view and sunsets.
The Price quality ratio of the service is very good, the restaurant is perfect with plates and local recipes as varied as generous.
A special mention for all the attentive and very kind staff.
Congratulations to Georges and Yannick for having succeeded in this alchemy, we had an experience as exotic as precious.

What a disappointment

Hotel in need of a good renovation. It is impossible to swim because of the +++ algae. The only way to cool off the shower water. The only hotel in Madagascar that is out of rum

Nice location on the beach

Nice hotel located on the beach north of Ifati. You really sleep right on the waterline and that's great! The staff are very friendly. Beautiful sunset and you can walk right into the water. Every day at high tide, mountains of leaves wash ashore, these are swept back into heaps at ebb so that they can wash ashore again at high tide, a bit hopeless to see.
Nice activities at the hotel and plenty to do, unfortunately not possible to scuba dive which is 10km. Up ahead.
The food is 2 times a day a 3 course menu with mainly meat and fish. Just a sandwich for lunch would be nice for many people too!
The room was spacious with 2 fans and a mosquito net that is way too small and can not close when you are in it.
The mattress thin, worn and a hard bottom. The pillows were very special and not very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious with a shower without water pressure at the hot water and the shower head cannot be hung. The towels smell like wet dog.

Paradise

Spacious Bungalow right on the beach overlooking the beautiful sunset, also from the restaurant a great view of the sea / beach and the adjacent fishing village. Bathroom needed replacing. Lighting in the evening could be better. You witness the real lives of the local fishermen.

OK hotel though maybe not your dream beach holiday place

We spent our last two days of Madagascar tour at the hotel de la Plage. After two weeks of experience in the country I can say that the hotel is just at the OK level as it comes to the country standards. Bungalows are a bit run down, but habitable enough. We had front row one, just on the beach, so it was additional pleasure. Sand on the beach was white and clean, water of pleasant temperature, but there are lots of seaweeds. Restaurant and its food is OK, too. As usual in Madagascar, there is a blackout at night and in the afternoon. Wifi is present in reception and restaurant area and is of sufficient quality. Hotel has extensive garden planted with local plants and there is a lot of wildlife to see. As a warning – bring a flashlight, it will be useful when going to your room after the dinner. Negative points: covers on the sun lounges are so dirty and moldy that I did not dare to lounge on them; fan in the room had such wobbly switch that we only managed to switch it on on the second day of the stay.
