STAY HERE. IT IS TRULY A LAOTIAN HOTEL
I stayed here last year over Christmas. It is an wonderful hotel with an old-world feeling that cannot be imitated and is the opposite of stale or shoddy hotels in this price range.
This hotel also goes by the name New Lao Paris Hotel, so I will post this review there as well.
This is a hotel filled with people from Laos with the hotels that I personally don't like being filled with Americans and Europeans. There were other tourists, but I did not see any as everyone I passed was from Laos or Thailand. This is a hotel that is truly Laotian...a place where local people stay. These hotels are the best for me.
It is easy walking distance from the city center and the Night Market, but also just a few minute from Giraffe Supermarket, a major supermarket like in the U.S. It is also an easy walk to D-Mart another major supermarket as well as seconds from multiple restaurants, places for a beer, a convenience store (directly across the street), and various other stores.
No review would be complete without mentioning Joy at the front desk. She is amazingly bright and welcoming in a way that cannot be faked. I felt at home seconds after I met her with a genuine smile and a real sense of kindness and understanding. No hotel is rich enough to buy someone like Joy because she is just so genuinely sweet and kind, something money cannot buy. She is full of life and a delightful person. I will remember her long after I forget other wonderful things in Vientiane. She is irreplaceable. Joy is not just her name but also who she is.

EXCELLENT HOTEL
I wrote two reviews, one for this hotel and one for the New Leo Paris Hotel, There were the exact same reviews, but possibly the second did not appear as both reviews were identical. The reason is that this lovely hotel has two names, this one and the one I mentioned. I think management might consider combining the listings into one, but that is their decision. Nevertheless, this is what I wrote about both hotels as there is only one with 2 names.
EXCELLENT HOTEL
This is an excellent hotel. It is walking distance from two major supermarkets and across the street from a convenience store. There are restaurants, stores, places for a beer and anything else you may want near the hotel. You can easily walk to the river where the views are wonderful and look across to Thailand. The Night Market is a short walk, and if you take the airport bus to the last station, you can easily walk to the hotel or get a tuktuk for a short drive. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The best part is that it is really a hotel for tourists and locals. My least favorite hotels are filled with American tourists but not where Laotian people want to stay. The hotel reminds me of Hanoi's Old City where you can see the past and history with beautiful woodwork, not a design like sterile new hotels with no character. I will return to Vientiane after the rainy season, and I will book my old room long before the plane takes off.
And tips to the staff are very generous as tipping is (unfortunately) uncommon in Laos, so your generosity is especially appreciated.

Scam hotel. Dirty and broken
do not book this hotel it is a construction site. everything there is broken and dirty. Place is very dirty, many areas dont have walls. Keep away from this hotel and comppany. They dont even want return money after you find out about scam....

Great place to stay if you are finding for quite environment, neat and tidy in room facilities and price to performance value. Nice place.
