Home away from Home

The Casa, Ridgway hostel is part of the Center for Peace in San Jose, Costa Rica. The staff were amazing and kind and made sure I had everything I needed. They made a beautiful breakfast and honored the fact that I am vegan. I really felt the historic presence of the place.
This is a home away from home! Deep gratitude and love… and Peace!

Attention like at home

Excellent attention, from the moment you arrive they make you feel like part of their family, clean and welcoming environments, I recommend it if you go alone or in a group, you will have a great time, they also recommend places to visit in Costa Rica.

Great location for student groups

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Ridgway. We were a high school group of 17 students and 5 adults. The accommodations were very comfortable and community-oriented; we appreciated the simple breakfast that was included and the spaces for meeting together as a group. It was also wonderful to be supporting the work of the Friends Center for Peace while staying in an amazing and safe location in the city. Any questions we had were responded to quickly by staff; there were plenty of bathrooms and they had hot water for showers. We will definitely come to stay here again!

Loved the stay at this hostel

I had a great time at this hostel. The people are super friendly and very helpful with any kind of problem. Everything is clean and furnished with lovely details. The mindset and social mission especially for indeginous people is part oft what i like most of this hostel. You can reach almost every important place of San José on foot or by bus and it's a pretty quiet and friendly neighborhood. Huge recommendation for this hostel. I loved to stay there with a group of volunteers and I am excited for the next seminar, that will be there again.

Nice hostel in a great location!

We visited this hostel as a couple and got a double bedroom. The hostel is really clean and there is warm water. The check-in and check-out was super easy. We didn’t have any problems at all. We recommend it.
