An excellent B&B in Escazu

If you are going to visit the San Jose area, we can certainly recommend Casa de las Tias. In the suburb of Escazu, it is a very convenient location. And, a comfortable place to stay. The rooms (and beds) are quite comfortable, and Xavier and Pillar are excellent hosts. They will help you plan excursions, recommend restaurants and provide any information that you need. The B&B grounds are beautiful, too. We recommend getting the Junior Suite if you can; it has some amazing local art. We will certainly stay at Cafe de las Tias on any future visits.

Homely and personal hospitality

We stayed at casa de las Tias for 2 nights when we arrived in Costa Rica and then returned for 3 more nights after travelling around and before leaving the country. It is a warm home to stay in, with the personal care of the experienced hosts and owners- Pilar and Xavier. Communication was excellent and we got airport pickup arranged as well as advice for car rental etc. The house has private rooms and common areas as well as a garden and front porch to sit together and relax, all designed and kept with good taste and attention to details and practical features (including comfortable beds and linen, night lights, carpets, books, plants and many more). Excellent breakfast is served in the garden where you can also meet other guests. I certainly hope to return here and highly recommend!

Wonderful! warmly recommended.

Casa de las Tías was wonderful! The house is very beautiful, comfortable, clean, and full of charm. It's located in a quiet neighborhood in San José, so it was a perfect place to relax after several days of intensive travel.
The breakfast in the beautiful garden was delicious.
Pilar and Xavier are excellent, welcoming hosts—beautiful people, very helpful and kind. I had lovely conversations with them and with other guests I met during my stay.
I stayed there at the beginning of my trip, for one night in the middle, and at the end of my journey. It truly felt like a cozy home to return to.
I hope to come back again and highly recommend this place with a warm heart.

Casa with a personal touch

The welcome was very warm and the airport pickup service worked great. So we were able to arrive relaxed at Casa de las Tias in the late evening. Pilar and Xavier are excellent hosts, we felt comfortable from the first moment in their Casa. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and yet within 10 minutes in San José. Breakfast was good, too. We would definitely come back.

A cozy cottage in Costa Rica

A beautiful home nestled in the suburbs. Xavier welcomed me and made me feel at home in my room with a gorgeous view of the backyard. A peaceful place to sit and enjoy nature or read a book. Many restaurants close to hand. When you are looking for a quiet hideaway with a slower pace you’ve found it here. Pura vida
