Fabulous host!

Jodokus in was like home from home. Made so very welcome by “Jipe” (Hipe)….but never knew how to say your name properly! The property was beautiful and clean with stunning views….a truly unforgettable place that I wouldn’t hesitate to return to. You couldn’t have been more helpful on my trip, especially travelling alone.

Great relaxing place!

Great house with lush green gardens and nice view. Really nice host! Tasty fruit at breakfast. Amazing birdwatching & monkeys interaction in the surroundings of the house! It is 30 minutes (steep) walking from the center of Montezuma but we really enjoy the walks!

Wonderful stay

Ype is an excellent host who really goes out of his way to make you feel at home and happy! The rooms are really nice, the view and garden is amazing and there is plenty of space to just relax, read a good book or do Yoga!
Ype also gave us great recommendations and brought us to the bus station at 5.50 in the morning! We wish we could have stayed a few more days, but we already booked the next part of our trip in advance.

Best place we stayed in Costa Rica!

The Jodokus is a little quirky; it's out of town and took a little bit of finding but it's worth it, it's very quiet and has great views over the lovely garden to the ocean.
It's a wonderful place for a peaceful and relaxing stay, there's no rush to do anything. Plenty of shade and cool ocean breezes.
There aren't many places where you can pluck fresh fruit (oranges, grapefruit, star fruit etc.) straight from the trees and make your own smoothies for breakfast, but you can at the Jodokus.
The kitchen is large with lots of appliances and equipment, Ype goes out of his way to cater for various vegan / vegetarian etc diets - it's a do it yourself breakfast, he leaves a great variety of food, yoghurts, cheese, lots of fresh fruit, eggs etc, and you can have it however and whenever you want throughout the day.
The owner, Ype, is great, he's really friendly and knowledgeable about the area (and many other things).
We had the small room, if we went again we'd book a larger one but it was quite adequate for our needs and had a good electric shower.
The sunrise is worth getting out of bed to watch. There's a good variety of wildlife, and you'll most probably see the local troupe of Howler Monkeys.
We loved our stay at the Jodukus, if we ever return to this area of Costa Rica we'll definitely stay at the Jodokus, it was definitely the best place we stayed!

Excelent Choice! YPE is the best

Excelent experience at the house. The location is wonderful, a wooden house set up in a wild hill full of life and green. The house is very nice, exc view, full furnished kitchen and with all the commodities you might need. The best part of the stay is the histrionic owner YPE. Full of recommendations, polyglot, always more than helpful and gentle. Only tip before u go: rent a 4WD vehicole.
