A Gem

Spent a week at Doce Lunas as part of a Yoga Retreat, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. The grounds were beautiful, and at the time of the my retreat it was loaded with fresh mangoes among other edible fruit trees! The owner, Chris, was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating; even offering to give our group a tour of the plants at the resort and a tour of some of the local history and street art of Jaco! And that is in addition to all the local excursions they were able to book for our group (multiple guided hikes thru park lands, horseback riding, and a boat to Isla Tortuga). Rainforest creatures are unavoidable, but the rooms were clean and the place was well maintained. Our retreat had a small buffet style service, the food and fresh juices were all incredible and our server Frank took great care of us. There’s even a few dogs and several cats that live on the resort to add some protection and personality to the place! If the opportunity arises, I would 100% stay at Doce Lunas again

Very pleasant.

The accommodation is excellent; we love the hotel and it is always our main option for lodging in Jaco. The food is delicious, and we love that we can bring our pets.
We believe that a little more maintenance should be given to beautify the place even more and improve certain areas that are only aesthetic. But the service, the food, and the rooms are all very good, and the price is very affordable for when we go as a family with our daughter and our dog daughters.

Return customer!

My second time at this lovely location. I attended a week-long retreat, adding three nights on each end. Docelunas doesn't disappoint-- the rooms are very spacious and clean, the staff is accommodating and kind, and the daily breakfast is hearty and delicious. The resident kitties and Luna the dog will keep you company. The grounds are lush and stunning, providing plenty of opportunities to observe the wildlife (monkeys, toucans, iguanas, bats, birds, and butterflies) and examine the many species of plants and flowers. Ask Chris, the owner, to tell you about the many superfoods growing right there in the garden! The spa & studio at the top of the stairs was perfect for our group, and I also had an excellent massage. The town of Jaco is bustling, with many shops and restaurants, and the beach is very accessible. Getting into town is super easy-- borrow one of the bicycles, walk (about 20-30 minutes), or take an Uber. There are plenty of great restaurants in town, with all kinds of fare to please any palate. After the energy of Jaco, I am always grateful to return to the serenity and peace at Docelunas.
