Best hostel I’ve stayed in

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! 100% recommend if you visit San Gil. We stayed for two weeks in a dorm room. The staff is great, especially Amanda! The location is perfect right in the center of town overlooking the park with gorgeous view! There’s a pool and sauna. The bathrooms have hot water and soap, and you get a complimentary towel staying in a dorm room. The dorms also have lights and charging outlets at each bed and lots of storage space and lockers. There are two kitchens, one on the second and one on the third floor. The kitchens are well equipped and clean!

Excellent hostal and I have stayed at hundreds of hostels in Colombia!

So I have been visiting San Gil for 15 years (living 10 years in Medellin) but my first stay at SAM’s and now I know what the ‘Buzz’ is all about.
Great staff, location could not get any better, good morning coffee, comfortable amenities including a roof top pool AND free parking if like me for my car……not one complaint and I will return.
As an aside I thank Sam for allowing me to purchase from the hostel the large customer metal lighted PEACE sign that hung in the reception area……it looks great in my apartment in Medellin!
Highly recommend that you consider SAM’s Hostal for your stay in San Gil.

Best Hostel in San Gil

Cant speak highly enough of Sams VIP!!! This place has it all. Best location right on the main plaza with a balcony that looks over the square. The staff and Sam himself are more that accommodating with every question I had. It felt like a home away from home! Ended up staying for a full week. :)

Great stay

Great hostel with good quality facilities, location and security. Excellent receptionists who are happy to help out with anything. Very easy to book activities with of which there is a wide range available.

San Gil’s Best

Sams VIP is an amazing hostel. The rooms are clean and spacious, the prices are very reasonable, and the location is right smack in the middle of town. They also have a cute little pool right on the top of the building where you can relax and look out on the town. Though the thing that I find to be best about the hostel is the staff…they are so friendly and so accommodating. I met a total of 5 while I was there and they all wanted to make sure I had everything I needed, that I could do all the activities I wanted to do, how to get from one place to another, and even helped me practice my Spanish. I’ll be back!
