Warm welcome and excellent service

Just got in from Berlin and the hospitality here is amazing! The rooms were spotless and the temperature was just right. They even pulled our cars up to the entrance this morning. Shoutout to Aigul for telling us about the best local spots!

A bit like a mausoleum

This is a large hotel which feels somewhat impersonal. It was hard to get dinner because of a large conference going on so the dining room was not really open. Also, apart from at reception, staff did not really speak English. On the positive, breakfast was fine, there is a nice spa facility and the room was large and well appointed. But the hotel is located a bit out of town (up the hill) and felt more like a business hotel than a sightseeing option. Excellent Georgian restaurant across the road (reviewed separately).

Grandiose hotel in city outskirts

Royal Tulip is a large spa hotel, located in the city outskirts of Almaty. The room was very large and well equipped. Breakfast offer was varied and good quality, but restaurant is bit overcrowded in peak morning hour. The hotel has a nice ad large spa area, comprising indoor pool, saunas and fitness centre.

Large, beautiful but boring hotel

This hotel is located not far from the high-mountain sports complex Medeo, so you can feel the mountain climate. The lobby is large, beautiful with a classic interior, there are many places for conversation and relaxation, the corridors are wide. The staff is professional, courteous and smiling. The rooms are large (minimum 50 sq.m.), neat, in a modern style. Appliances, bedding and shower accessories are of good quality. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool with various saunas. Some of the hotel furniture is worn out, the lobby and corridors are poorly lit. Food is relatively expensive. I advise you to take rooms with mountain views.
