Fantastic Stay and Reading Trip Advisor Reviews Never Disappointed
We had a wonderful stay at the DoubleTree in a Queen Suite on 9th floor. Check-in was quick and easy, and our suite was very clean. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchenette, the spacious and spotless en-suite bathroom, the incredibly comfortable beds, and the beautiful view of downtown Detroit.
Before heading to an event, we had dinner at the River restaurant. I ordered the River Room Burger with a Greek salad and a cocktail to unwind, and the burger was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. It was juicy, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly. The pizza was good, although it could have used a little more seasoning. The riverfront views made for a relaxing dinner, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
The next morning, we appreciated the courteous breakfast staff at the River Restaurant. Guests can choose either the continental breakfast or order from the menu, which is a nice option.
We also enjoyed spending time in the warm indoor pool.
After checkout, I called and asked to speak with the General Manager regarding a small misunderstanding about the breakfast service at the River Restaurant. He returned my call promptly, listened to my concerns, and resolved the situation. I appreciated the follow-up and the way it was handled. It showed a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction and left us with a very positive impression.
A tip for future guests: check in before parking. The front desk will provide a pass for the attached parking garage behind the hotel (one-way street). You can access the hotel from the third floor of the garage through a secure entrance using your room key.
Thank you to the entire team at DoubleTree for a great stay. It may have been a short visit, but we truly enjoyed our time there and look forward to staying again. Looking forward to coming back in September for a sort weekend getaway!

Check in was efficient and thorough, but not particularly warm. Was welcoming, but in a perfunctory (scripted) manner. The fresh cookies were a nice surprise! Parking is in a parking structure behind the hotel and included in-out-privileges, costs $21/day. How to get to the garage and what to do was well explained. We had a deluxe suite. Separate thermostats for the bedroom and the living space (nice!). Linens for the sofa bed were provided in the low dresser in the living room, under the tv. Spacious. Super clean. The kitchen area was large and well stocked, but had the very tiniest of fridges, even though there was space for a larger one. Everything very comfortable. I was sure I had booked a river view room, but we were given a city view room, and the hotel was sold out for the weekend, so there was no possibility to change it. I'm sorting out the mix-up with hotels dot com after the fact. They are checking with the hotel, but in the meantime hotels dot com has already issued me a credit directly, which is excellent service.

We always stay in the King Junior Suite overlooking the river and it’s absolutely beautiful. The room is clean and very spacious, easy to relax. There’s very few hotels that I continue to return to but this is one of them.

We had to wait for our room to be clean to check in and when we came back, the toilet was disgusting and clogged with poop. When we called,they said there was nothing they could do so we had no bathroom and when we tried to get breakfast the next morning they told us they didn’t have any room for us. Very disappointed, also not helpful at all.

Nice place for a night, however it seemed low staffed and procedures were very slow. My friends in another room had an issue in the bathroom that made them unable to use the toilet. They called staff and they never came.
