Lovely BnB
We stayed at this B&B for two days and were delighted. A lovely, clean, and comfortable room, a welcoming host, and a delicious breakfast... It was perfect. The record player with vinyl albums in the breakfast room was a nice little extra.

Absolutely wonderful
The owners are absolutely wonderful, so hospitable and friendly. The breakfast was perfect; fruit, yogurt, eggs and toast. The history of the house can still be seen in the restoration. We stayed in the Diana Rose room and it’s stunning! We’ve also never stayed anywhere so clean! Not a speck of dust anywhere. You can feel the love and pride the owners have in the property.

Excellent Visit at Inn on Frederick
Had a short, really nice stay at the Inn on Frederick, a small B&B right in the small heart of the St. Andrews commercial waterfront district.
Hosted by John (Jong) and his wife, the Inn is small, comfortable and modestly priced. What sets it apart is that they’ve thought about and addressed lots of the small things that are often overlooked by hosts that can add up to making a big difference in the comfortability of your stay.
The rooms are cozy and, in our case, they’ve shoehorned in two comfy chairs as a sitting area in the room, but the only place they could fit them in was to place them directly in front of the armoire which made the armoire completely unusable.
However, there was more that made up for it. The shower/bath fixture was literally gleamingly clean. Someone took real effort in making it shine. The soaps and shampoos are in full sized new bottles (that are probably refilled when necessary) but they remain looking clean and full and new and much nicer than the tiny disposable small bottles found in most hotels. The water pressure in the showers was really hard and refreshing. There was plenty of room for toiletries (not always the case in smaller roomed inns). And on the bedroom side tables, we each had small outlet consoles with outlets for three electronic devices as well as ports to charge two USB older rectangular devices and one USB-C device. Roku TV with a good sized screen worked as it should.
The king bed was surprisingly comfortable and the air conditioner kept us cool on a summer night
There are no cooking facilities at the Inn but you are next door to a small supermarket as well 1/2 block from the local coin laundromat and steps from everyplace to eat and shop in the small commercial district.
Breakfasts were fine, mostly unremarkable, but sufficient and prepared with greater care than you’d find at the typical small hotel. There’s a nice porch area to sit outside comfortably.
We just found the Inn on Frederick to be a nice, well maintained, place to spend time in St. Andrews for a short stay. We walked down the main drag and passed by other small hotels/b&b’s and were really happy we chose this as our place to stay.
It is not the most luxurious inn you’ll ever stay at but they did a really great job of making our two night stay comfortable, enjoyable and convenient for all we wanted to do throughout our visit. Thank you, Jong.

Wonderful B&B with a Terrific Location
We can't speak highly enough of the Inn on Frederick and our overall experience. First the location is perfect if you just want to hang out and explore Water street, you can just park your car and never have to drive again. Second, John is a wonderful host and really accommodating to his guests. We spent three nights, and they insisted on servicing our room on the second night even thought we didn't need anything. The breakfasts are great and different each morning of your stay. We stayed in the Saint Margaret room and it was plenty large enough, with a fridge and coffee maker, and all of the furniture was in good condition.
